I hadn't noticed. Might be because there are so many more files in the DLC that have to load.

IMHO I think it's good. Play through for me was about 4 hours. The main game in general however is better due to the new enemies that stay with it after the play through. For me, that adds value. I should also add that I bought it early.

I notice when I fire my flare gun that there are never any Minutemen available any more especially against robots. On the other hand, no respectable Minuteman would be seen in the neighborhoods I tend to frequent.

I have as of yet to fire my flare gun. I don't need the help and I don't want the headaches that may accompany the accidental shooting of the good guys.

Is that neighborhood the Red Light District? LOL

I can't recall the settlement name, but it's at the very bottom of the map. It's kind of in a swamp area, but there is definitely a settlement here. In that area tends to spawn a mirelurk queen every time, with 4-5 regular mirelurks. Can be quite challenging, and I you're on survival, can be your worst nightmare. If you have this settlement decked out, should make it a breeze.
(I would like to see Bethesda release a DLC with a quest to allow a "zombie raid" where 50-75 of the radiated zombies come and attack Sanctuary. This quest would then be repeatable)

That Mirelurk Queen is a breeze when you are high enough level wise and with a few perks. The Mirelurk Queen should be the least of your worries now. Those new baddies that came with the DLC are nasty and generally the don't come alone.

A new kind of Ghoul seems to have appeared along with the DLC. I can't remember what they're called but they look like glowing charcoal and are really hard to kill.

I have as of yet not seen it. But if the past combat with the other ghouls is an indication of what's to come, break out the shotgun and I'm talking about something that has a high damage score and very large magazine. Mine shreds them in short order.

This game has literally made me dislike robots.

LOL

I know the feeling. There are some very tough bots and when they pack up and attack, damage usually follows.

I can deal with most of the robots. It's the Scavengers that are miraculously hovering in the shadows that steal the parts before I can get to them.

Scavengers were doing this before the DLC. I encountered one at one of my settlements and he didn't give the time of day. I was on him like stink on crap and I made my presence known. He left. I was thinking about shooting him.

What's the verdict as far as updating? I purposely stayed offline and have never updated because I want to play stable but if I want to try any DLC, I will have to update. I saved my save folder, anything else to know aside from saving often? Or should I not bother?

Are you running any mods? If so, that may cause you problems.

Do the down load of the DLC. It adds a whole new element to the game even after you complete that mission.

So I believe I'm on the latest build, but my load times are much longer than what they used to be. I have the game loaded on a SSD, have verified the files through steam and yet it is much longer that what they used to be. Has this been addressed already or is there a fix?

Mine seems like it did before the down load.

Time to verify my cache again. I'm traveling with Hancock and he fell off a roof and just sat there. I had to load a previous save from before his 'accident'. There was no option to Stimpack him. Just had my first crash to Desktop in over a month. It was a good thing too because I failed to save Kent who was being beaten by Raiders at Milton Hospital. Either way those Raiders are history.

Who's Kent?
I remember a radio guy that was being held but I forgot his name.
