Hi all,

I got my hybrid kit and so far almost happy with it , I don't think I hear any "loud" pump noise , I can only hear the pump working when I put my ear next to it (they do have to make some kind of noise since they are turned on ) so to me that might be normal noise. My issue seems to be one of the tubes is vibrating really hard non stop, the other tube for example vibrates but very light and hardly noticeable.  This is making my case rattle , when I put my hand on the side of my case I can feel the vibration.   So my question is are the tubes supposed to vibrate at all?  what about the intensity?

Thanks in advance for any clarification , I need to know if I have to RMA this unit (i hope not)  if both tubes were vibrating like the one that is hardly doing it , very light I would be ok I think.

It sounds like there may be some twisting or other constriction in that line.  You can always feel it to some extent as the fluid is forced through the hose, but it should minimal.

Hi all, so after 2 weeks the vibration still happening but I got used to it but my pump is making a buzz noise , it sounds exactly like it does in this 31 sec video from youtube :

Can an EVGA employee please tell me if the pump on the hybrid supposed to make any noise ? some noise ? or no noise at all?  I read this thread and some say they make noise, others says that it's silent. So I don't know what to believe.   I built a silent PC (Define R4, all noctua fans, etc) and since I mainly play/use my computer after after midnight when it's all quiet the buzzing noise becomes noticeable.   Now I'm hoping to get an answer because if I'm just going to get another unit that makes the same noise because all pumps are like that then I rather request a refund rather than a replacement.

Thanks , I have 10 days to decide on RMA and one last thing my rad is mounted up front so the pump and rad are practically vertically , I removed it and held the rad in the exhaust and top positions so the pump was under the rad and the pump was still making the buzzing noise.

Hey all,

I've just had by 980Ti Hybrid in now for a couple of days and I'm getting the exact same pump noise as in the video above.

The noise is horrible and very audible in a quite room when not gaming. So much so I want to RMA it I think but just like vegnar I want to know if this is common across all Hybrids or an actual fault.

Don't want to return it for another card that just makes the same noise!

I called evga tech support and the guy said the units are supposed to be silent but he also did not sound sure of what he was saying because he said that they have not serviced this units much. So go figure...

Im hoping Jacob or someone that for sure knows can tell us if the pumps on these units are supposed to be silent or not ?

Thanks

Bottom line: if you're not happy with the noise, then RMA. If you can live with the noise and temps are ~50C and below, you're fine.

Not exactly that straight forward. I don't want the hassle of 2 RMA's if they all make that noise, as in that case I'll return it and get something else

They don't all make that noise, a small minority do. I can tell you I have 2 and neither makes any noise.

If your rads are mounted vertically, make sure they're oriented with the hoses on the bottom like this photo:

That's good news, I think that's kinda what this thread is about, just getting to the bottom of the noise issue and if it is in fact normal.

I'll give the RMA a go now then :)

Yeah its mounted as a rear exhaust with hoses at the bottom. TBH though i've tired it in every orientation and direction and the pump buzzing doesn't stop
