also, overvolting the gpu is not the answer, unless your going extreme (LN2 or DICE)
and you can only unlock voltage limits on the 980Ti (not recommended and dont help anyway on air-water) on the Classified or soon to be KPE edition. ( or similar cards from other manufacturers. )

someone correct me if I am wrong

Generally true sure.. although I ran 3rd party bios on my 780 ti Classifieds with voltages increased far beyond what Precision offers and never had heat issues. I did address the thermal pads, sink surfaces, paste and OV'd my fans for higher RPM's to handle the extra heat.

Not really sure about these 980 Ti`s..

I`m already running reference 980s at 1574mhz/8ghz in SLI - gives 23500 in Firestrike.

I can easily push one of my cards beyond 1600, but the other card with lower ASIC can`t take it..:(

Not convinced the 980 Tis are worth it unless you can perpetrate some serious cooling. That means at least chilled water cooling with a serious aquarium cooler- at the very least.
With air and ambient water cooling, these cards don`t seem to deliver.

Waiting for pascal seems the better option.

Though to the OP i have to say- messing with the BIOS and finding out what all the sliders mean, maxing your cards OC potential, is SERIOUS FUN! You`ll crash your PC a million times, but it`s great seeing those firestrike results go upwards..:)

Wish you good luck..:)

Hey there thx for making this thread I was wondering the same question about flashing my card.

About the 980Ti-SC-425-1281mv vbios. It mentioned that the power limit can go up to 425watts. If I'm in running 3 way sli 980ti hydro this mean that my cards alone could potentially draw 1275w. This leave only 225w for the rest of my system.

My question is my 1500axi corsair power supply gonna be able to handle it ? My cpu is also overclocked. It can draw like 300w under load so i'm a bit over 1500w total I think.

300w max.

It seems to be working fine. I beat my last record in firestrike ultra. I made it to rank 15 in firestrike ultra x3 cards. I'm the only 980ti in the top 20 ? Lol... titan x

That's not such a big improvement from my last stock bios overclock.

I was oc'ing it at 1480mhz and now with the custom bios I can crank it up to 1502mhz.

I had to lower my oc to 1470mhz because valley and heaven keep crashing above that. That's really disappointing, I practically achieved nothing better than stock bios with higher voltage and power limit.

My best oc on stock bios
1440mhz for gaming
1480mhz for benching

Custom bios
1470mh for gaming
1510 for benching

I really wanted to reach 1500mhz stable for every day use :(

Ok guys we got a problem. So the 980 ti seems to downclock from 1450 MHz to 1251 when it reaches 64c, I have monitored it and it seems like it happens exactly when it hits that temp. What gives? I want the card to stay at 1450 not downclock what so ever, I would use K-Boost, but I want to see my gpu usage.... I have prefer maximum performance enabled in the driver also. So I was wondering if you guys could shed light into this for me.

p.s. I have precision x 4.2.1 and the temp and power target maxed. 120% and 90c for temp target. (None are hitting their max thresholds)

Sounds like you may need to disable the boost. http://www.overclock.net/...ble-clocks-for-maxwell

I am very scared of doing this with Maxwell Bios editor and was wondering if you can you can do one for me. I want this bios to stay the way it is, but without any boost. I would greatly appreciate it :(
