Hello fellows,

Happy new year for all of you!

I  acquired recently my EVGA 980 TI SC Gaming.

I tried two times to flash my Bios with the one recommended on 1st page by Sajin and cdc-951 (1420X.rom) , i had every times no signal on screen afterthat, i had to put an other graphic card and load my original bios to get my card back.

I followed every instructions listed step by step on the post of Sajin :
Sajin

Flashing procedure for single cards:

#1 Move the "980Ti-SC-425-1281mv.rom" vBIOS located inside the 980Ti-SC-425-1281mv folder into the nvflash folder via drag and drop.
#2 Run command prompt via administrator.
- Windows 7: Press the start button and type "cmd", right click "cmd" and select run as administrator.
- Windows 8/10: Press the Windows Key & X keys together, right click "command prompt" and select run as administrator.
#3 Type the following commands into the command prompt... "cd  c:\users\<your users name here>\desktop\nvflash" without quotes and hit enter.
- Type "nvflash --protectoff" without quotes and hit enter. (Turns off write protection on the card. Some cards will need to have this disabled before you can flash the card so always perform this command before flashing.)
- Type "nvflash -6 980Ti-SC-425-1281mv.rom" without quotes and hit enter.
#4 If you get an error stating "Firmware image PCI Subsystem ID <xxxx.xxxx> does not match adapter PCI Subsystem ID <xxxx.xxxx>" just ignore the error (this error will cause no harm, it's just letting you know you are changing the subvendor on the card.) and continue on flashing by pressing "Y" to override the error. nvflash should now start to flash your modded vBIOS to the card and complete by saying the flash was succsessful.
#5 Restart PC. (NVIDIA drivers should automatically detect and install the card, if not, you may need to uninstall the drivers and re-install them.)

I don't know what could be wrong, my original BIOS version is 84.00.41.00.90, is that possible that 1420X.ROM isn't compatible with my graphic card?

Should i try with an other BIOS or it could be dangerous?

Btw thanks a lot for your replies , and all my apologizes if my english goes wrong.

Yes.

I guess it comes from the Bios version, the one i have is 84.00.41.00.90, and 1420X is 84.00.32.00.90.

I'll edit my Bios with 1420X settings to see how it goes.

May the force be with me

I tried that BIOS a while back and I had the same issue. The 1420x.rom did not work with my original 84.00.41.00.90 BIOS.
Tried to do some minor tweaking to it, but ended up going back to stock after failed attempts.

GPU-Z is currently showing 1455mhz but in reality I am getting 1423 cause of the temperature reaching 72c with fans around 55-60 :)

I finally succeed editing my bios, using settings done by Sajin. It works fine, i got 1418mhz recognized by gpu-z on load. I could even stabilize my card on 1528 mhz adding +110 on afterburner, passing through 3dmark, thing i couldn't achieve before. Card is getting warm( about 76/80°C on load) , but waterblock is coming at the end of the week!
Btw all credits goes to Sajin, thx dude !
Woyanger i can upload my edited bios if you want, as u have same bios version.

Ok after a few hours on The Witcher III, i can say the card heat a lot more in game (normal i guess due to the 1.28 voltage).
It hit 80/82°C on load with 75% fan speed, and about 74/75°C at full load.
Putting the card on the water will fix this i guess, just have to wait a few days

Here is the link to the 84.00.41.00.90 Bios @1418mhz :
