Hi guys welcome to my forum post!

Just wanted to ask the whole EVGA community to get together for a second and take the time to help me make a 980 ti bios with pretty high voltage. (not high enough to blow up my pc lol)
So I was wondering if I could have someone make a tutorial with me on this forum step by step, I have looked on other websites, but none
of them make it easy for a novice to understand. There is just 4 questions I got and would really appreciate it if a good portion of you join this forum and actually reply, I see a lot threads dying for no reason.... and frankly that annoys me since the answers are never really given.

The specific card I am getting    -----    http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-4995-KR

1. Does the bios have to be from the same exact card?
(Eg. Gtx 980 ti modded reference bios with 1.3v--- to---- GTX 980 ti ACX cooler) will I have a different fan curve?

2. What are the steps to reverse flash (Say I decide to sell the card and want to put the stock bios back on there).

3. what is the difference between these 3 pre made voltage bios....  *see pictures at the bottom or link*
http://www.overclock.net/t/1558645/official-nvidia-gtx-980-ti-owners-club
(If you refer to a picture please refer a specific one) Eg. "In pic 1 it means etc etc"

4. Should I just ask someone to make me a custom bios mod for this specific card or what bios would you select for this card?

If I can get help from all of you to help me put a modded bios on the 980 TI I will gladly make a video for others who come in search to do the same. I hope also to anyone who is in my situation gets their questions answered by someone who is knowlegable in this, feel free to put any posts on here and I will answer them to my best ability. I am a semi novice at bios flashing and modding, So please go easy in here and simple. Lets do this guys!

P.S. If the pictures are rendering very small, right click the photos and open them in a new tab. I do not know if it is the forum bugging it.

VERSION 1  By the way everyone if you want the final bios here it is.
All the other ones are not as stable as this one. 84.00.32.00.90
Thanks to Sajin for the finalized bios!  http://www.mediafire.com/download/08kgg9vh6hjs0t6/1420X.rom

VERSION 2  If you have RECENTLY  bought a 980 TI  I guess EVGA changed the bios in the new batch of 980 ti so if the first one does not work try this one, if your gpu bios has these numbers then you have the newer batch and need to use this 2.0 version made by Nemesis11  84.00.41.00.90      http://www.filedropper.com/1420v2

VERSION 3 just using this one at the moment and so far pretty good on it, no dips in MHz what so ever Thanks to Sniperguru

first, spend $20 more and get a Classified <- dual bios card
you can copy your bios with GPU-Z
read, read, read before attempting to flash or modifiy the firmware on any gpu
heres a couple of links that will help:

^^^ This is a little out of my level of messing with Maxwell bios editor, I was giving hope in someone making a bios for hack for this card in reasonable limits, Kind of like the skyn3t bios for the 780 ti  *see link for the example*

By the way lets just stick with this card in the forum post.   I know there are better cards for this, but this is in the name of science!

also, overvolting the gpu is not the answer, unless your going extreme (LN2 or DICE)
and you can only unlock voltage limits on the 980Ti (not recommended and dont help anyway on air-water) on the Classified or soon to be KPE edition. ( or similar cards from other manufacturers. )

someone correct me if I am wrong

I plan on putting it under a water cooler soon so no worries man

- Just need boost to be disabled. 1.3v would be nice and a higher power limit, nothing too insane!

If this can be done I will make a video tutorial and post it here on

-how to reverse bios flash to stock

-how to flash the modded bios

-Lastly what to do step by step

some people are visual learners (me for example) so I am sure there are others who would appreciate this if not now, then in the future.

I am an over clocker junkie and would love to squeeze performance out of the card.

just be careful, also take a look at :

dont trust software based voltage readings, they dont work!!!
again, you would need a probe it connector to do this properly
(only on classified and KPE)

Best of luck with this

Thanks man and I know this all a risk, I am aware of all the risks there are, but I just want a simplified answer on this. The 780 TI skyn3t post was a great post! I just want to go moreee in-depth with my post for any one else who stumbles across this forum post. So if anyone would like to answer some of the questions for a semi newbie that would be nice :)

BTW

This isn't really for my build, I ordered a 980 ti for myself and one for my brother. We are going to bios flash his, I paid for both of them so they are both technically mine. I ordered one from EVGA and the other from Amazon. I plan to flash only the amazon card and  the other one will be kept stock so I can keep my warranty :D
