The ACX 2.0+ aren't listed in our compatibility list for the Titan X waterblock.  We would need a confirmation from an EVGA rep to know if they changed the PCB layout or just the aircooler.

So, just to be clear, you identified EVGA 980tis as compatible with your wateblocks based purely on the looks, i.e. which ones have reference cooler and which don't, right? Because you don't really have any of them (EVGA-branded cards) back in Slovenia to physically check compatibility with your TitanX blocks?

Not on the look but based on the fact that we know the reference Nvidia 980Ti shares the same PCB layout as the Titan X.

I'm glad I didn't purchase the Titax X waterblock as recommended!

Any Reps from EVGA want to clarify if all the GTX 980Ti's have the same PCB layout?!

You didn't answer my question. How do you know that the two EVGA models you listed as compatible do follow reference PCB design? Because I'm sure you do not have any of the EVGA 980tis physically at your office, so you picked them visually, i.e. those with reference coolers identified a reference PCB and excluded ACX ones since you are not sure what PCB lies underneath, isn't that right? There's nothing wrong with this sort of thinking, you are just being careful.

We didn't need to have the 4990 or the 4992 in our hands to know they were reference ones since if you take a little look at the pictures provided by EVGA for those models, you can clearly see the "Nvidia" branding on the PCB right over the PCIe connector.

06G-P4-4990-KR

06G-P4-4992-KR

And this is the 06G-P4-4991-KR

You can see on the last picture that the "Nvidia" branding is gone in favor of an "EVGA" branding on the PCB.  Which might mean that the PCB layout has been altered.

anziel: you've been pushing this point in more than one thread >.<

as much as i kinda agreed with your thought process (as yes, they are always touted as reference with acx cooler) but ive gotta side with Luc and caution here, i mean its totally possible EVGA just used stock titan x pcb and stamped their brand, but if every other "reference" card has NVIDIA branding and those magically have EVGA branding, then yes, very well could be different.

EVGA already stated, the only non reference pcb is the Classified and K|ngp|n. All others are reference. That was Jacob posting that, and I will have to look for it.. The thread was referencing the 980ti ftw, which will not exist.

I'm back here it your answer... All other pcb's are Nvidia reference.
EVGA_JacobF
Yes Classified and Kingpin are the only cards that use a custom PCB.

Not a problem. I knew I had seen it, and couldn't remember what the title to the thread was. I actually had a long conversation with the OP before Jacob popped in and Helped us out.
