What else are you going to use your gaming PC for? Everything else requires less performance unless you are video editing or video game developing in which case quadro series is the better route to go. Everything depends on what you are going to use it for.

MAC has its strong points but normal tasks and gaming probably aren't what you should use a MAC for.

I use my gaming PC for games obviously and work/school. Doesn't mean I should buy the best components at this point in time. I upgrade when necessary after price drops as far as CPUs and MOBOs go. V-Cards by the time the price drops might as well go with the newest but maybe a step or 2 down from the best for dollar to performance value if you don't have disposable income like me.

There are things you shouldn't go cheap on GPU, MOBO, PSU, and RAM. CPU and GPU you can make price cuts.

I used to use Mac but as much as I hate to admit it windows is far more advanced. You have no options with Mac and frankly it's made for ppl who just want things that work outta the box. Mac also uses 2nd rate hardware, and that's giving them more than they deserve.

I use my rig for everything, and I dabble in video editing. Unless you're a professional who gets paid for content creation, there's no reason to run quaddro. If you think Titan x price : performance is bad, the quaddro is even worse. I was running a single gtx 770 on air and renders for 5 min video @ 1080p hardly took any time at all. 980 I'm sure will be much faster.

I also agree about not skimping on quality. I buy Asus motherboards, and sometimes EVGA b/c even though they're not as experienced as Asus with mobos their customer service is king...I never have to fear an RMA if it comes to it.

EVGA is king of psu and gpu though.

I know the Quadro is worse but that's because it's not meant for the task that the Titan X was designed to do just like the Xeon and i7 should never be compared because they are for 2 completely different tasks.

Well that line is getting blurred now because Xeon was the only chip that could do serious server stuff, and now the 5960x is close but just uses way more power. Although you could underclock and get similar performance.

I was speaking in reference to the quaddro as a video card. Most gaming guys perform just as well as the quaddro and even better in most applications unless you get past the $1000 range. Gaming gpus are extremely, extremely versatile, whereas quaddros are anything but. I'd rather have a gpu that's a jack of all trades than have one that's a master of one (at a ridiculous price premium).

Yeah I could see the 5960x being used as a server CPU over a Xeon.

I agree with you on that too, I'd rather pay for something that can do it all as opposed to limit myself to using my system for 1 task.

hsharma128But smart people don't build a gaming PC just to play games.

Wait.. what?

I'm kinda glad the Hybrid is OOS currently else I know I would pull the trigger. I want to wait and see what the full Fiji chip has and it's price point but I've been itching for an upgrade. The lack of the Witcher 3 also annoys me, that was the icing on the cake. 2 - $60 games + the sale of my 680 brought the price down quite a bit. Enough that I'd even be able to justify an SLI solution later this year.

Tried searching, but is the 980 Ti ACX versions gonna have custom coloring like the 980 Kingpin?

What is the performance difference between the 970 SSC+ (3975) in SLi or one GTX 980 Ti?, I'm thinking about stepping up one of my cards for the 980Ti if it performs better than two of my 970's

Really wish I could step up to the version with the back plate already installed. I may sell my 980 SC with the back plate I bought separate so I can buy the version with the back plate instead of stepping up to the card with out one.

I kind of like the way the 980 looks more too, the side is black compared to like silver on the ti.
