I have a problem. I bought 2 SLI ACX 2.0 (non-sc) editions. I install them find out I'm having tons of problems. Long story short after about 2 weeks of trouble shooting I find my motherboard is shot. I replaced the PSU for no reason. I can't use SLI configs in PCI-E slots 1 or 4. So I'm stuck putting the cards directly right on top of each other. That means the top card gets insanely hot- I'm talking like 85C+ during intense gaming situations at stock speeds (I haven't even tried to overclock yet). The bottom card is like 60C.

Anything I can do to cool my setup down? There is no point in replacing my motherboard at this point because I have a Sandybridge and Skylake is right around the corner.

you state Slot 1 or 4, but did you try slot 3, so that they aren't on top of each other?

It would help to know the motherboard and CPU as well.  Are you using slot 1 and 2, or 1 and 3 currently?  When I had one insanely hot over the other, I switched the cards, and they evened out, but I think that was a specific case.  Either way, give it a try, put the hot card on the bottom and the cold card up top to see how they react.

Indeed very disappointing behaviour from Evga on this matter. I only wish they are aware of the huge money they're not making by letting people buy other brands while they get bored waiting for the card to be available.

You simply cannot design so a sexy card and don't let anyone buy it.

IT'S NOT WORKING!!!!

Hi Guys,
Matt from New Zealand here.

Right so here is my sad sad story on this subject.

So back in early June I see the EVGA 980 ti Hybrid and I think damn what a sweet card.
I think on it, read reviews, get all excited about and finally I hand over $1450 NZD on the 29th of June (yes thats how much they cost down here) to a retailer.
Their website said that they would be getting their cards on the 22nd of July. I was told you had to pre-order to get a card as they would be flying out the door and we are only getting like 40 cards in the country in the first batch.

So 22nd of July comes around and hmmm no email from my retailer. So I contact them and they say they are in the dark about it, but will find out.
They get back to me and say that no dice on the Hybrid but I can get one that has been in a gaming rig as a demo at the wholesalers for 3 weeks.
I was like sure I will have it, if there is some sort of discount. They get back to me a day later and say nah no discount and sorry the card is already gone as someone else said they would have it.

I had no idea there were MASSSSIVE production problems with these cards (only just found this thread with all its info today) or I would have said YUP I WILL HAVE THAT DEMO CARD RIGHT NOW THANK YOU!.. ahhhh..god damn it..

So the question is why the hell does EVGA basically tease us with a release back in early June and then have no bloody cards expect cards for reviewers for TWO months. So god damn lame..

In the 980 ti Hybrid thread on these forums, a mod mentioned that the production line for the Hybrids was small, so they can only accomodate for small batches but they also have plans to increase the size of the production line for the Hybrids to increase the batch size and hence availability in late/early July/Ausgust.

So they didn't think that the Hybrid would be that popular. Guessing everyone saw Jay2cents overclock it to 1500mhz and it was only at 48 Degrees and when right pre-order go.

If you really want the best, why not go for KPE? They all can hit ~atleast 1530 @ 2200 and according to vince some will hit 1600

a new GTX-980-Ti arrived today.

i have GTX EVGA 770 card installed now and  that the 980Ti will be replacing.

is it preferable to remove any drivers for the EVGA-770 prior to removing the card and then installing the new 980-Ti?

edit;
i actually opened the box tonite and actually read the little booklet. i get it, i'm to uninstall the nvidia 770 drivers first then shutdown and install card, then drivers.

lazy on my part to post prior but sometimes there are gotchas like driver versions on accompanying cd's, etc.

my apologies for that.
