Just thought it'd be thoughtful to share with everyone who hasn't pulled the trigger yet that the Batman promotion for the 980 Ti from EVGA is already closed. Supposedly other suppliers have promo codes but EVGA isn't taking any more requests now.

Some people claim they're going to see if they can get more, but I can verify they don't take requests anymore. Was pretty disappointed myself when I found out. It kind of detracts a little value from the purchase - albeit small.

So if I am only planning on moderate overclocking, should I not bother with a Classified 980 Ti, Lightining or ASUS equivelant and just get something cheaper for light-moderate overclocking?

If you are sure your plan of "modertate OC" is set in stone then you certainly do not need to wait and/or spend the extra money.  I got a plain old Gigabyte reference model (Sorry EVGA... there was just no stock anywhere I could get).  Didn't bump it up step by step... just went full power...  +275mhz.  Boosts to 1502.  Tried 300mhz (boosts to `1525) and it works fine (Made it through Firestrike Extreme and 1 hour of Heaven).  Tried +310mhz and it still didnt crash but it didnt boost any higher.  1525 is the limit for my card I guess, its hitting V-reg / V-op or some other limit.

If I can get that high on a plain old reference.... The Kingpin / Classified is going to be RE-diculous!

I think EVGA really need to make good on this. The offer is still being heavily promoted on the home page and other retailers selling EVGA cards are still offering codes.

I assume that because I placed my amazon order for the card when they had the promo active that I'll get a code for it...

I doubt it. I bought the card day 1 from EVGA. There's no queue. You register the card on their site then enter the promo page while logged in at which point it'll tell you it's closed.
