I like the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ (w/Backplate) 06G-P4-4995-KR. I'm worried though that my build case of choice, the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ITX, might be better off with a reference cooler GPU design because of maybe being restricted somewhat for proper multi-fan cooler airflow to the card. Any chance EVGA will make a reference 980 TI backplate? I'm only considering GPU's that come with a backplate (from other brands too) because the reference version does not and no one is making backplates it seems.

EDIT - Just noticed there is now a part number for an EVGA 980 TI Backplate 100-BP-4995-B9. It wasn't there several says ago but glad it is now!

Don't feel bad. I ordered mine from NCIX the day they came out and when I called today they said they are still waiting for both cards. I'll give them till Friday and then pull my order and go elsewhere.

Just an FYI, the Amazon pre orders are first come first in line. So if you want a Hybrid card it would be wise to place your order now instead of waiting for it to be in stock. You won't be charged until it ships.

While I wish there was more stock, this pre order process is much easier than having to deal with nowinstock.com alerts. Also, I am sure it makes things easier for Amazon since they can better determine demand.

Also, lol the Hybrid was in stock at Newegg for a whopping 9 minutes today. This reminds of the days trying to get a PS3 at launch in NY. It was just about impossible. I ended up going to Middle of Nowhere Virginia.

LOL man this thread is giving me flashbacks to the GTX 680 launch.  People were rushing out to buy that card, NO ONE had it in stock and I waited about 2 or 3 weeks before mine showed up.

Does the 980 ti SC reference card come with a back plate?

EDIT: It appears it does not.  That's just silly.

But they do now have a part number for an EVGA 980 Ti blackplate you can get separately. Only bad thing is an EVGA reference cooler overclocked with backplate added, ends up costing a combined $10 more ($670 + $20) than the $680 EVGA overclocked ACX 2.0+ version w/backplate.
