bump. Cmon guys this is ridiculous. I've had this problem for over a year now that I know. But I just attributed it to my old pc and never looked into the cause for the delay. Well now I just got a new screamin fast pc and I experience the exact same keyboard lag when booting windows. No no I don't think so. Maybe in 5 years I'll try out Precision again, but I'm not waiting one more second to fix this issue. Uninstall and use MSI Afterburner. I bought (2) evga 970s. If you guys can't even fix this issue or even "replicate" it (sorry if I'm a bit skeptical I'm comment #51 and I'll bet less than 1% of people having this issue come here to comment), I'll be purchasing my next video cards elsewhere. And to those who say "Deal with it" or "uncheck autostart". I say no, neither of these options is acceptable to me.

Windows 10 64bit. Also tried on windows 8.1. Skylake processor, z170 chipset.
I'm not going to bother listing my full system specs because obviously its not a hardware issue, and obviously the staff has enough hardware samples to go by and don't seem to care about this issue. I will, however, be happy to provide any information that may help resolve this issue if you guys want to earn my business back and actually attempt to fix this. Hell, I'll even take a video illustrating the slowness and the lag at startup and the lack thereof with Precision turned off. But don't bother posting here asking for more info as I won't be back to EVGAs website unless someone from EVGA contacts me wanting to fix this issue. Take my username here and add @gmail.com if you want to keep a customer. Otherwise, Adios.

Same issue on Windows 10. Been racking my brain for months trying to find out what it was. Then I decided to do a clean install on my SM951 nvme drive and reinstalled things one by one to check what it was and lo and behold its EVGA Precision. Most recent version at time of writing (ive uninstalled it now).

By the way im running 6700k @ 4.7ghz and 3600mhz CL17 Ram with a samsung NVME boot drive and it still slows down at startup.

Glad I finally found out what it was but gutted that I have to go and use some other software :(
Wish I had found this post a while back and I do still love EVGA products though!!

Hopefully it will be fixed by the time I change out my 770 sli for the top end next gen card !

I thought I would try setting it as a delayed start and thought maybe that would work but I cannot find it in Services.msc. Any idea's?

Currently given up and have installer afterburner :(

I used task scheduler to delay the program running for 1 minute. It did seem to work, but at the minute it kicked in and I got input lag again, but it didnt seem as long as what it usually is though.

Afterburner is the way to go now. Looks like EVGA doesn't want to fix this.

Such a shame. I really prefer Precision, but this 20-30 second input lag on every boot is pretty annoying.

Pointless in the long run!
Is your GTX 970 an EVGA Model?
Have you test with the CURRENT Version Version 5.3.10
