I received info that it's in fact delayed a few more weeks but while we all have to wait (myself included ) I have some answers for a few questions I received earlier.
  • The classy block isn't the same for the KPE
  • The block will be available with your choice of acetal or plexi top
  • The block will only be in nickel finish
  • The block will be an "XXL" one. So it will cover the entire card

Thanks for the details. By the way may I ask why the special cards always get nickel blocks only? I think copper is way more 'bullet proof' choice when water cooling. :) I don't mind the looks at all.

I understand that the market for these blocks is going to be very small.

They decided that the non-reference cards block would be nickel.  This might probably be because nickel blocks sells more then copper blocks.

I hope they did not delete it!

Nickel is fine, no compatibility issues with copper. If you don't like the way it looks get the acetal top.

For my tastes the full cover or "XXL" block is the best looking option, so that much is nice.

I'm very disappointed that it has taken so long to get this block done, roughly 2 months late after an already long wait to even hear confirmation that a block was to be made in the first place. I'll still buy 2 blocks, I'm not going to buy two new cards right now for the sake of spiting EVGA & EK, though I'll be forced to consider alternatives in future purchases.

Asus is a much larger company and may seem like the better bet for a timely delivery but I sure did a lot of F5'ing waiting on the Swift.

Looking to source parts for my first build. Like the 980 classified too.. Will the Aqua Computer kryographics for GTX 980 fit? They have 5 different finishes and one with a card/cooler combo - acrylic, nickel, black etc. Type "kryographics for GTX 980" in search for shop.aquacomputer.de. Says "Combined GPU/RAM/VRM-cooler for graphics cards of the type nvidia GTX 980 with 4 GB RAM according to reference design."

No. That part is for the reference design. The Classified is significantly larger.

Cool, I won't be buying one now and after all this time you offer a single pitiful option.

In fact I regret ever buying this card period, this really screwed up my plans. Next round it's clear that ASUS is the brand to go to, and A good Kyro block will suffice for any reference block.

Thanks EK. I wish I never had this damn card, stuck on air for three months. Who's to really to blame, EK or EVGA? EK released a block for literally every other custom solution before this one, and 'jokingly' called EVGA a shady company on Facebook. I think I'll happily abandon both - that isn't very professional and obviously has a ton of truth behind it. I'm sure EK and EVGA are confident in their sales regardless of a boatload of customers jumping ship this term. I guess while EK is horrible in this scenario, EVGA is really the one getting abandoned. Both companies seems to be confident that they have endless supplies of customers, so let's see where their fumbles land them in a decade.

Heads up; there's a new player in town called Diamond Cooling - they aren't on the scale of EK and don't plan to compete but they offer service EK couldn't dream of offering. It's very small and they don't have many cards/blocks, but the owner is fantastic. If you send him a card, he can make a block for you. I plan to ask him to make me one for the 980ti or whatever I end up with after I sell this garbage 980 at a loss.

take it easy man?  You ever make a block?  Its not easy.  yea EK makes it SOUND easy, but its not.  Trust me when I say I know what it takes to make a block from start to finish.  They pretty much have to appease EVERYONE being the industry standard.  Remember... a single pitiful option, is better then no option isnt it?

I m sure that there is a delay because ek want to relase a perfect product and maybe it needed to do more more test to it.... And when it release the block we will have the most powerful card of the world under liquid!!!!!!! I really trust in evga and ek!!! But this is only my opinion!!!!

Enjoy voiding your warranty for a block when you switch to ASUS.  Another forum user just changed his thermal material, and now has a $550 brick on his desk.. Make the move, you are the consumer.. show them who is boss...
