I didn't use the non conductive strip that came with the cards, I used just what came with the EK Blocks.

I didn't either, It didn't occur to me until after I already assembled the blocks. Thanks.

Actually, I do not even know why EVGA even had the non conductive strip in the 980 packaging. I guess if you made a custom water block for it that you would need it. But you would need more than one strip that EVGA gives you anyway.

All I know is that EVGA and EK is working on the block but I don't know if it will be an HydroCopper block made by EK but sold by EVGA as usual or an EK block sold by us or even both.

Regardless, please make this point to them loud and clear, we want to use the EVGA factory backplate with the EK block and not have to "rig" it to work.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to "rig" the backplate? I really don't want to buy 3 more backplates. The evga backplates look a lot better anyways. If it's possible to rig these I'll do it.

You have to buy the correct screws used on EK blocks to hold the non-EK blackplate on. I forget which size screws they are (M3?) but I went to Home Depot and bought a few 8mm and 10mm screws and some washers and had the 780ti KPE backplate on my EK block.

Talking about this... can you specify which screws exactly you have been using there to make it fit or even better link them?!

Sorry for the delayed answer.  The screws are 6mm in length

Anybody know where I can get BIOS that allow me to exceed the 125% power draw?  The Kingpin BIOS are no good for me, so I need something else.

umm.. www.kingpincooling.com....  it is a K|ngp|n card, and you will probably find that K|ngp|n forums provide much faster help.. also, this is a waterblock thread for the 980 Classified..  Overclock.net also probably has a lot more info on the Classified and K|ngp|n Classified Threads.

I don't have a kingpin card, I have a classy. And since most of the people on this thread are water cooling, I figured this would be a good place to ask. I did go to overclock.net. I haven't gotten any replies yet and it's been several days. I did get a custom bios that wasn't bad from another user on here, but all I really need is to unlock the power limit. That BIOS didn't do that. In regards to the kingpin bios I referred to, there was a custom bios created by him for the classy. I tried it, but it's more geared towards benchmarking only, I'm looking for something a bit more versatile.

Actually, regarding which bios you have every oc software will allow you to raise power limit to 125%, but actually it is in wattage higher than stock bios 125%

Hopefully i get my block tomorrow, been waiting since release of classt.
