With talks of Core 18's and Core 15's, all I've been getting are Core 17's.

bcav is on fire! Go Mountain!
I managed to fire up a dusty 4p socket-f rig but don't know what ppdthat will add for another 24h.
Got another 4p socket-f that freezes on the blank purple Ubuntu launch screen 12.04
Have tried everything. I understand its a bios gpu thing and the only solution is to flash the bios? Unless upgrading to 14.04 would work?
Any ideas folks?

I wanted to bring this up (even though its already been stated), being that since this is my first time joining in on this type of event, and that there may be others like me who are doing this for their first time...

Everyone participating is required to fold until ALL TEAMS reach 100 million points, correct? (eg. You don't just up and quit folding once your team reaches 100 million.)

That dose not sound so far to me, we have other work to do and it will take the PST Team at least 3 months to hit 100 Million.

Contest webpage states:

https://sites.google.com/site/timezonechallenge/format

"Contest date:

  • The contest will start  within at midnight December 1st (Eastern Time US) and end when each team reaches 100 million points."

So is my initial statement incorrect? Are individuals forbidden to stop folding after their team reaches 100 million, or not? The contest rules/format doesn't clearly address this question.

Generally we continue... can't end a contest until everyone reaches 100 mill, er, every team.  Just my take on it so keep folding dang it!

Individuals, not sure.  Frankly I committed to folding 100 Mil for our TMZ as a team.  My take is I'll keep going until it's done.

I won't stop until mid January. When I move, I won't have a choice but to shut down for a few weeks.

It would be great if we could keep up a high level of ppd.  We are currently holding off [H] who seem to be running a final send-off to BA units and we are catching Default as well.

I don't think that [H]ardOCP is a problem anymore and due to dropping BA a lot have left as well.
Most of them went over to Curecoin from what I see.

To keep a high level of ppd would be very simple of FAH all they need to do is add 25,000 to each Core 15 Project.
Work better with NVIDIA or better yet work with them as a Team and create a driver solely for Folding for each GPU Core.
Like any of this will ever happen.

[H] was dead apart from 1 user -MtnDuey (Big props to him 4 billion points and counting, currently the highest point score in the project) .  Last month or so Grandpa and Brilong and a few others have
come back and are belting out the BA units.

We're not that far ahead of them that they couldn't catch us by the end of January.
And catching up with Default after BA expires might be very difficult - I imagine most
people who run BA are part of teams, so Default probably won't cop the overall
ppd hit that the top teams will.
