So when the 980 classified is released, is that a card that is able to be stepped up too?

Usually you cannot step up to the classifieds.

You can step up to a reference model is there is one. You just can't go from Classified to Classified, for example.

+1  You and me both. LOL. If they only release 1 card, it's mine.           =)

The Other big question is when they do get around to releasing this card is what will the MSRP be?

I have just seen on Fleabay where at an Auction they didn't sell one for $870 + $50 Shipping because it didn't meet the "reserve price"!

The other other big question is how many will they have in stock? If we've been waiting a month for this then they better not sell out within 2 minutes or else riot.

Right now they haven't even had any "vanilla" GTX 970/980's in EVGA stock, So I figure it's a safe bet there won't be many Classifieds available on release day.

If I Knew they were going to be this scarce, I would have never sold my four GTX 980 SC's two weeks ago (and Yes, I know I am a Big Dummy for doing that!)

Yes, Since I have Always been mainly into Extreme Overclocking/Benching/Testing, My reasons for selling the four GTX 980 SC's I had and now trying to obtaining GTX 980 Classifieds (which are similar in features to the Previous GTX 780 Classifieds I have used ) is that they have additional features I find useful such as two eight-pin power connections (instead of two six-pin) for additional power capability, a triple BIOS selection switch used for flashing additional modded BIOS's and an EVBot port (Allows Voltage changes to All cards at the same time when they are under Load running programs).
If I am eventually able (or Lucky enough) to purchase four GTX 980 Classifieds, I will use them again in the same 4-Way SLI configuration for Overclocking/Benching/Testing purposes using a Chilled Water Cooling system somewhat similar to my previous EVGA GTX 780 Classified Rigs and 780Ti Classified Kingpin Edition 4-Way SLI setups as shown in my "Mods Rigs" shown below my Avatar.

Everyone has their own various different requirements/reasons for using these cards whether they want them in a single, 2-Way, 3-Way or 4-Way SLI configuration perhaps just to run games or trying to "push the Limits" of the cards or even just because they want to have the latest components in their systems and are satisfied running at the stock factory settings.
