I contacted EK about their plans for a block for the 980 Classified and got this reply:

Due to recent amount of work with several other blocks and items, we are not planning to make any new water block for this hardware in near future.
However if we change our plans we will publish that under news section.

What are people planning on doing for their Classy cards?
I got this same response a few weeks ago, and I think they're only saying that because the card isn't really out yet. Once the card is released, they'll probably make a block then. An EK staff member said on OCN I believe that they'd be making about three variants for most custom cards. Would defeat the purpose of this card for anything but LN2 otherwise and to make a card solely for that would cut out too large a portion of the market.
Also looking back, I'm pretty sure it would have cost me about $30 less to get a 780 classy when they came out, so the price isn't far off.
I would think if EK doesn't step up that Aqua or Kyro will.
Speaking of release, it's Monday! Are you
really going to make us wait until Thursday night? I've always heard EVGA was the best at relating to their customer, so hopefully thats true and they let us order today so we can - maybe - have it by Friday.
