Might be necessary to have these cards now as nVidia has started signing the BIOS files.  May not be able to ever upload custom BIOS files.  Time will tell.

Skyn3t is already working on a custom 980 bios that allows you to play with TDP limits and voltages and all that jazz and I believe nvflash is now working for maxwell: EDIT: I cant post links yet: google the overclock.net gtx 980 owners thread.

While the 980 is disappointing if you have a 780 or higher if you are coming from anything lower and you get this 980 classy, get the skyn3t bios, its really not hard to do at all, especially with the dual bios switch. I have my 780 classy at 1200 stable so I can only imagine what the 980 classy can do.

Plus I know I don't have to tell you guys, being members of the EVGA forum, but overclocking the 980 is a must, a overclocked 780ti beats a stock 980. An overclocked 980 substantially beats the 780ti: EDIT: I cant post links yet. HardOCP did a 980 overclocking benchmark runoff thingy. Google it. :-P

Side note: keep in mind they did this with a reference 980.

Hi. I have a question.

Seeing that the GTX980 classified is finally on the store page, what happened to the 1405 MHz Boost clock that was in several news sites? Was that just a rumour or there is another variation of the Classified card coming at some point? The one on the store page has 1393MHz Boost Clock instead.

Cheers

It's here

The question is, is the difference really worth $130 over ACX 2.0 SC.
1291/1393Mhz vs 1266/1367Mhz (mine boost to 1418Mhz on stock settings)

And still no 980 FTW,

I thought the Boost Clock was supposed to be 1405MHz?
The 1291/1393MHz values are Exactly the same as a Zotac ZT-90203-10P!

Unfortunately we had to make an adjustment to the Boost Clock frequency before launch.
