Also looking at the EVGA website - the prices have been hiked up.

980 SC Reference shows for $619 and regular 980 Reference is for $599

The 980 SC was for $569 at launch...

This sucks... :( I dont want to go for ACX 2.0 - I haven't heard positive things about it...

What bad things have you heard about it?

Temps are horrible in SLI when two ACX cards are stacked on top of each other, even with a slot in between them they run hotter than reference style cards due to venting hot air into the case.

There is another thread where someone asked about this and a person from EVGA chimed in and said it's not true...the reference 980's are still in production.

I think that there might be more going on here... makes me nervous... I saw a semi ominous tweet from Jacob about the question and said "Not Exactly", but didn't say exactly if it was true or not.

I really hope its not, I am ready to upgrade my GPU to a pair of GTX 980 SC's (with Reference coolers) as soon as I can... if I can...

I don't think they will let us Step-Up'ers down. No matter what I'm positive they will make it right.

I spoke with a few Fry's today in the Houston area and both said that it was discontinued in store.

Sorry for the confusion/misinformation. EVGA has not discontinued the reference cooler and you will see more availability soon.

Thanks for the information.  I have been to Fry's a few times and they just say it is discontinued.

It drives me nuts that they are saying this.  Funny enough they had 2 980 ACX 2.0 SC cards in store, however, they aren't even listed on the Web site.
