Yeah same thing here. No matter what I try it will not open.  And yes its running in the task manager.  Please fix this!

It's getting really old force feeding information that gets ignored.

Yeah I finally fixed it by completely stopping the program AND server in the task manager AND deleting the EVGA folder and then reinstalling the program.  All good now.

Ver 5.39 still has launch issues after installation.

I cannot get Precision X to load at all. I am not talking about upon OS start...I double click and nothing. It runs in background but no icon is displayed in my "show hidden icons" toolbar. (Deleted for Foul Language) is going on? ANYONE else having these issues? Just updated...worked well for 3 days and then today I noticed that upon restart Precision X was no where to be found. Double click icon and nothing...nothing comes up and says this program cannot run...nothing. What is going on? How do I roll back to previous version of Precision X there is no download link that i see....just the most recent version.

I just tried to upgrade to 5.3.9, the upgrade process completed but the new Precision X did not appear. When I checked task manager Precision x was using 25% cpu and 25% memory constantly. A reboot found the Precision X process in exactly the same state.
I had to kill the process and uninstall 5.3.9 then reinstall 5.3.8 to get it to work again, this was on a W10 64bit system.
Is there an issue with 5.3.9?

Was using precision x 5.3.8 on a 64c vista pc, 550 ti ssc, when I started seeing 3 osd servers pop up on boot.;
only one card, single display setup.
Uninstalled via control panel and got the error message to reboot to complete the uninstall, rebooted.   
Installed precision x5.3.9 after installing nvidia driver 358.87 rebooted again.
Precision x5.3.9 will not load or run, tried to run as admin, no change.
ave a 650ti on win10 64x pro that has no issues.
Had to manually delete two precision x installed folders because of this.

Refer to the posts above your that say to try 5.3.9.1 the hot fix for the hidden 5.3.9 precision. See if that works for you.
