This version is a mess. I like how it says I can disable tooltips by using the Advanced Properties Menu, which there isn't any way to get to. I have no idea why they tried to pack everything into this goofy graphical GUI using the little LED characters to adjust settings. It's horrible GUI design and definitely NOT for the people who will be using it. We want it to be clear, concise, and the GUI graphics make no difference - give me a slider in a plain Windows box and let me go with it, AS LONG AS IT'S CLEAR.

I still have no idea how these radial readouts show me my overclocking and I'm not going to risk it because it's not clear in the GUI. Ditto with the OSD problems - I just want to see my FPS in the top left corner at a certain size font, and for some games I want to push a function key and start logging my FPS. No way to do this in Precision X 16, and if there is, it's so unclear WHERE it is that it's useless.

Anyway, I'm uninstalling this and checking out alternatives. EVGA you really dropped the ball on this one. How it works behind the scenes may be great, but the GUI is such a disaster that you're shooting yourself in the foot. At least make a "plain" skin that has none of this GUI graphics and just plain checkboxes and sliders.

I will tell you an amazing story..
I have a GTX 780 EVGA card 3xSLI.
After entering the new software EVGA precisionX 16 happy I did upgrade from a previous version.
I have since started my problems-now I know that all the fault occurred with EVGA precisionX 16.
In this forum, I wrote that there are problems with voltage adjustment, as they are set by the software itself spontaneously and with each switching profiles increases to very high values dangerous.
I use the player Mirilis Splash Pro-player he started to crash and I had to watch movies off EVGA precisionX 16. For some reason IE browser also the random reboots. I crashed the game Call of Duty: AV (freeze and black screen only helped restart the system), but also occasionally Assasins Creed Unity.
There I joined this from EVGA precisionX 16 because the head did not occur to me that the dedicated software for the EVGA card may be the cause.

Well-it turned out that it was, and in addition to the latest version of the manufacturer's newest nothing was done!

Since a few years ago, I held the card MSI and MSI Afterburner software, I decided to try to use it mainly annoyed impossible to perform overvoltage on EVGA precisionX 16.

It turned out after installing the MSI Afterburner, that was not enough that he is acting with my EVGA cards, then I can on it accurately and permanently set a higher voltage, which is stored in the profile and of itself does not change, I can also adjust all the other parameters like memory frequency , power limit, the core clock, fan speed.
But to my complete surprise, all of the applications and by me before the game ceased to hang!
Since then, nothing has hung up once. I used the same settings (the same level of overclocking), which I set up in EVGA precisionX 16.
Now I no longer have any problem and my computer totally nothing wrong happens.

I admit that I was shocked but I decided to write about it here. Maybe since EVGA has released so faulty software and in addition none of it does, but not erase my post, and people having problems with EVGA precisionX 16 similar to mine I will be able to install the MSI Afterburner itself.

OSD on my G510 works fine so far, although I can't make FPS to show up (option is somehow greyed out).

So, has anyone an idea on how to fix this?
P.S.: yes, my graphics-card sucks xD It's more than 4 y/o now :P

I'm having the same issue. I have a GTX 560 SE.
I had been putting off upgrading the program for well ever. Before the update, it worked beautifully. Now however, I'm sad. The only reason I had it was to monitor Temp and FPS while playing games. I can monitor temp, but like you it won't let me monitor FPS. Looking for other options.

This little piece of software is nothing more than a frustrating mess these days.
GTX 970 and Precision refuses to save settings upon reboot, and now it even refuses to start at the desktop. Ugh.. What a waste of time. Fix this monstrosity, or put this dog to rest.

I think they will improve in next months one by one thing.
People tune and work on AB years and still bugs are visible and show up from time to time.
Constant update is necessary.

The osd fps setting seems to be disabled because there is no server running in the background. I can't find a download for it either, as it seems to be missing from the latest install. What a mess...

I don't know for you but I lock fps on 60 with Vsync and exactly on crosshair I feel if fps drop under.
70-80fps or 120fps never mind, anyway I don't see them, except if I want to compare in benchmark tool.
But lot of people want to monitor fps.

I really like Precision X16 because of its ability to save and then recall everything related to the OC, including voltage you've set, but I have two bad side effects. One being that sometimes my mouse cursor disappears after exiting a game; I can resolve that by launching and closing a game. Second being it interferes with Windows Media Player which causes graphics corruption on the desktop which I can usually clear up by closing X16. I went back to v4.2.1 and have not had any of those problems.

I'm running a Galaxy GTX 780 HOF and current NVIDIA drivers. I'd just use Galaxy's tool but it's nowhere as good as Precision X16 and it especially doesn't remember important settings such as voltage and custom fan configurations.

Can this thread be locked?

The proper thread for the current version of Precision is stickied at the top of this forum section as always.

Problem is, they've linked to this thread from their Precision page.

Maybe they need to update that.
