That's at idle. When benching either 58-59 or 68-69 if I remember correctly. Well within the thermal limit

Going to try some lower vcore and jump up the vsa a bit. I wouldn't mind getting to 5 ghz but with lower voltages or at least no higher than I've already gone.

Suggestions?

I am now off the BIOS thread and on the O/C thread. So, not off topic.

I am steady @ 4.6GHZ running the following: As above with Samsung 850Pro 512GB SSD.
EVGA 1300 G2 PSU, Corsair Dominator Platinum 16 GB @ 2811 MHZ (XMP Profile 2).
Corsair H80i cooler. CPU 3rd Core (the warmest one) @ 38C. 2 GTX 970's in SLI.

Okay, nice setup. If I could suggest one thing it would be to buy some aftermarket fans for the cooler. I have a H80i with gelid fans, low noise, twice the cfm( air movement) that I can run my 3960 up to

5 ghz, no problems. Cooling is BIG...

I need help with the ring voltage. Not sure what range, read about .4v lower than the core. 1.25 max??? It shows as 1.050 approx in the bios in idle of course.

Here's my validation for my 5960 @1.261v for 4.5 Ghz.

Suddenly can't seem to attach an image...

How about X7608 for 3DMark 11 extreme? That's only @ 4.442 I believe. Liquid cooling, distilled water, lots of high cfm fans, 107cfm/fan, 4 fans/rad 2 480 rads. Oh and a big custom reservoir.

 that's the 670s btw...

For benchmarks we use only Fire Strike and with 3DMarks P# witch is Performance mode.

We know what to add to make it work.

You should create a MODS RIGS on your computers to show them off to others.

Holy moly dude !  What the heck, you own a bank???

Now that is a sweet setup. I haven't had the pleasure of trying a hydro copper yet.

As for rig mods, I don't bother, it changes all of the time, there are many better rigs than mine that I would feel out of place.

Here's what I'm using today. Tomorrow may change, looking at a pr of M2 for raid 0. Not sure yet, still not sure if they will go raid 0 yet. Just about to look that up actually.

 Intel 5960  EVGA X99 Classified Kingston Hyper X DDR4 2800 mhz quad channel 16gbs

Intel series 530 120gb in raid 0. WD 500gb Raptor drive  WD Black 1tb.  Kingston E50 240gb SSD

EK gold cpu block. D5 Vario with the 200mm tube res. 2 480 rads, each with 4 107 cfm fans/rad. Currently the 980 Strix with EK Acetal Nickel while waiting for the kpe block.

Corsair AX1200 Lian Li PC V2120. All fans are aftermarket 6 in all, 1 for the gpu, 140mm 122 cfms.

You must own the top of the 3DMark scores with that!!!

NOT EVEN the top 10. But at least in the Top 100. Hall of Fame is what they call it.
K|NGP|N Is Number One

http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/3980862/fs/4205056  K|NGP|N is more than 10,000 higher than my score.
And look at his CPU Maximum turbo core clock 5,868 MHz and I am only at 4,888 MHz

Wow no kidding. I'm just happy to beat my best scores, not knowledgeable enough to compete for those top numbers.

Considering I'm still stumbling around, no software training, I thought I was doing pretty good.

My issues are the ring voltages, and modding my gpu's bios. Back to reading some more. I can't seem to get my bios posted for modding. Asus 980 Strix, still waiting for my block for the kpe...

Any tips for a stumbler like me?  I have gotten the gpu to 1509/8528 on stock, with the switches on of course. A friend is going to bump my voltage to 475w.

Lots of cooling on that one, besides the water, extra fans.

My system seems to need a little extra volts just at boot up, not when running overclocked.  Any Ideas on what to change to increase boot up stability jet keep stocks volts?
