From what they have said, reference version isn't planned

Not true.

At page 65 of the OC forums I asked Jacob about them, see for yourself.

A few people also asked about reference cooler gtx 780's on evga's own forums a few days ago, he replied there as well.

The only thing we don't know about reference 6gb gtx-780's is when they will be released. I just hope it'll be soon because I want a pair so badly :(

(seems I don't have enough posts to add links to my posts so I'll be back when I have made enough :p to provide my evidence.)

Good to know, didn't realize they had a reference version in the works, you would think that they would release them about the same time. Sorry about that

No worries :) and yeah, it does seem kind of odd that they'd release the ACX versions and reference at different times. I mean my best guess is to help promote their product first, or maybe they just feel that the ACX's versions will sell more than reference. Honestly, i'm just speculating and have no clue. Regardless it is refreshing to know that those of us who want to stick with reference will eventually be able to get them at least

Any news about when will those cards be released for retail in Europe?

I'm building a new PC and graphic card is the last thing I haven't bought yet. I was wondering what would be the faster way to get it. Buying an older EVGA card and using step-up program or waiting for the card to be released for retail? I'd appreciate any info.

MrYuriy, sign ups for email notifications are closed. Step-up program is open. EVGA guy explained it in post #244 in this thread.

They're open, what you're looking at is the email notifications. You're supposed to go to your product page, click on "view details", and you'll be able to step up there. If you're from Europe, you will be prompted to first sign in the EU EVGA website before you can see how many days you have left.

I hope they will announce a reference design 6GB GTX 780 soon.

Have anyone asked, will there be an EVGA waterblock for this card? I'm holding out on the step up from one of my 680's due to missing out on it when the 700's launched with my first 680 purchase. Not missing out twice.

From what i understand, and from other peoples responses about this question, the cards are the exact same (GTX780 3GB and GTX780 6GB), besides the additional VRAM.
