Really need an optional bios update for the 02G-P4-2762-KR external exhaust cards. Both mine run at 26-28 degree C at idle and general desktop usage. But the 40% RPM limit is far to high and unnecessary for such low heat. Not only that, the 40% RPM limit has an annoying resonance sound that echos through the entire case. Setting it to 41-43% makes it even worse.
Can us EE card owner get some love for a 30-32% rpm limit bios as well please.
*I'll add, I build a ghetto fan head adapter cable with a variable resistance dial on it. I then tested using Precision to see when their effective cooling drop off point was under idle at different RPMs. The fans run at 1620 RPM at 40% and it wasn't until i got down to 800-900 RPM when the temp started to trickle up. Even then it leveled out to 34-36 on each card respectively. Granted I live in a relatively cool climate here and the ambient room temp here was set to 20 degrees C by my air con. And i know you have to have a setting that caters for all climates as well as give a balanced noise to cooling ratio. But It would be nice to get the option to get a bios for those who really don't need that 40% low cap.
1100-1200 RPM seemed to give the best result, with no increase in temps but a much quieter sound with no annoying resonance sound echoing from them.
