Here is the blocks mounted. Doing some testing before mounting in the case and running the tubing but looks good so far.  Took 5 SLI links to get the right height and to link them all together.  I was about 2mm off height wise any way I cut it but I think it worked out good.

Looks great, can't wait to get mine in.  Had a question on your setup Matt.  Noticed a couple things when test fitting some stuff on my dark 1) Does your I/O cover touch your backplate and 2) Did your mounting hardware(specifically the bottom right screw) rub against the socket lever?  I have an EK cpu block so might just be an issue with it.

  1. It does but it was not an issue when I was testing and powering up the board with the GPU on air and the backplate on it.  I did not even notice at first when I was first fitting everything together. I could not say if other maker's blocks and backplates would have an issue however.
  2. The block is a Swiftech APOGEE HD and it clears the lever.  I used the default backplate that came with the board.  The block is gold instead of the standard black as this one is the Gold Plated Limited Edition version and it came out a few years ago however this is the first time I have used it.

Finally someone posts some pictures of the blocks!  I'd love to hear some before/after temps.

Mid-20s across the board using a live boot of Ubuntu if I recall correctly however not stressed it yet.  Probably will be in a weekend or two before I can get windows loaded and do a more comprehensive benchmarks and temp checks under load.

Getting ready to start this batch.  A nice thing about a fixture plate, is it can be setup without even being on the machine.
Bolt on, indicate, start cutting.

Can't wait though I must admit my excitement for my build has been dulled a little since I cant find either of the power supplies I wanted anywhere, still though excellent work as always, this was much needed good news

Nice blocks Nateman, I'm interested, just not this moment since I'm waiting for a check to come to Me, the time frame could be a month or so from now(or less, as I have no idea when It will come), is this too long a wait? (I live near Barstow California) I don't have an X79 Dark yet, but that will be taken care of in due time, blocks are harder to get so they come first, I'm also getting 1/2"ID 3/4"OD black hoses with appropriate black chrome/black sparkle fittings. And yes I have a paypal account. Oh and this would be for My 3rd PC, I crunch numbers for Seti@Home and so plain black is fine with Me since 5 570/580 cards will cover the block almost completely. Also how much is the pair of blocks?
