No, it isn't, I had two failed (didn't work at all) X79 FTW's so they 'sort of' made good and gave me
the step up option, should have been just a straight swap though.

Have to ask though..... the upper right tab in your pic has no thru-hole for a screw? (I take it that's a result of testing with an actual board?)

There is only 3 holes on the motherboard.

Sign me up Nate, deciding on keeping or selling the X79 depending on how things. However if I keep the Dark for modding I will def want to get a set of blocks from you.

Well I just bought my X79 Dark from NewEgg, so just need to wait a week or 3 for it to arrive now.
