I have heard the call to arms.  I have a CAD file already designed, and I am SO close to making a prototype.  However I am not "at  the office" until another 10-12 days.  I will bang out a prototype as quickly as I can.  One thing I need from anyone who has the dark yet, and calipers, is a measurement or 2 of some chip heights.

I am close to having my new CNC 100% operational which could make a FEW of these at a time.  I will have my hands full of some other projects as well.  Feel free to post if your interested, or any questions.  My computer access is quite limited, but I will be on and off.

Now here comes the completed pics

Installed:

Top off with O-ring removed:

You can see the lowermost channel that goes within 0.09" of the surfaces of the chips

Bottom lapped:

Top with Stainless Steel screws - for those who want a lil flair with their dark:

Thanks Nateman. I believe you'll have a lot of interest in this.

You will, yes. More to the point, you ALREADY have MY interest.

I'm rather pissed at having to buy new SB/VRM blocks for the Dark. At least I can still use my existing CPU cooler.

EK hasn't indicated (that I can find, anyway) whether they'll make the other blocks for the Dark, and I don't want to wait some ungodly long time to get back to full watercooling. Subscribing to this thread.

I'll have a dark in a week or so... and I have calipers.  Let me know what you need and I'll see if I'm smart enough to figure it out.

Great.  It will be the as simple as I can make it, so I hope to bang them out quickly.  So far, the plan is to cool the VRM's, as the chipset I hear is only 10W and doesn't generate heat.  The VRM requires the most attention.  Someone correct me if I am wrong - I have been off the grid (@TG0437 to be more exact).

If they do go into small production how much do you think you would have to charge per order?

no idea.  Won't be expensive (at least I don't think).  I plan to make them as inexpensive & simplistic as possible

It will be like EKwb(for quality) or better?
how many days you will require and how much will be?
