So I can simply move the bios select jumper back while the computer is running? Then it'll flash the corrupt chip when I run the flasher?

I don't mean to sound distrustful, but could anyone else confirm this?
Don't want to permanently brick the board.

Also, I switched to a different SSD and it still freezes occasionally while idle. I'm now testing with untouched optimized defaults, to see if a bios setting is causing this.

Yep, that's how you can reflash a bad BIOS.  Boot with a good one, then switch jumper over and flash over the bad one.  I have done this several times on my Z68 SLI.

I had Bios 0.16 on my Z68 SLI at the time I got the board and it was screwed up cause it was freezing on me in the bios even at default settings with post code "A6" which means "No space for Legacy Rom Initialization"

so I used this method here to get 0.22 installed and that solved it for me.

It's really nice having multible computers for troubleshooting to work with in situations like this. Thankfully I do.

I also was kind of skeptical  when I heard about it the first time but I also have tried a couple of times and it works.

Ok thanks guys. I'll reflash it tomorrow. Which bios do you recommend for a Sandy 2500k? Is the old A05 still the best?

Edit: A05 seems to be missing from eVGA's servers. I can download every other bios except A05. Does anyone have a backup?

I would stick to the latest R22, cause the evga z68 boards are known to have compatibility problems and power supplie problems, Luckily my Corsair TX 750w works on it, and I was barely able to get my OCZ memory kit working on it. when it came to the memory kit it was very touchy with the bios settings on it, anytime I changes the memory settings I would get Post Code 55 (no memory installed error) and had to reset the bios so I have to leave the memory settings at default for it to work for me.

I'm gonna replace the memory kit at a later time.

Here is the link from the drivers site:

http://cdn.evga.com/bios/E685_A05.zip

A05 for the Z68 SLI board.

Nevermind: tried the link and it does not open.  Maybe someone will see this and fix the download.

You could always call tech support and have them email you the BIOS too.

Hello i came back here (sry for my english) because i'm on a Z68 FTW with the last bios and a I7 3770K.
Since i flashed the bios my usb 3.0 ports are not recognized in windows (everything is fine and up to date).
But in the uefi/bios in my configuration the line "USB3" is tag as "Enabled" so...
What can i do, is this a known problem?
Thanks.

Yes 2/3 times... Nothing happened except the fact that the driver told me that there is no hardware detected....
I don't know what to do....

Nothing is detected in windows but the option USB3 in the bios is set to "ENABLED" and when i go (always in the bios) to the usb configuration i've got only the usb 2.0 ports that appears...
