I never see above 67C on either of my 670 ftw's and I have pretty nasty OC's going on both. My fan curve is default and I just have it on auto. My fans never hit 70% so I never hear them. If your cards are getting hotter than that, your cards are bad or your case cooling solution is terrible.
Here's the official review explaining the many differences between reference 670's/SC 's/ and FTW's cards.  -http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/27432-evga-gtx-670-ftw-reviewed/27432-evga-gtx-670-ftw-reviewed?start=7
"EVGA did a great job taking the GTX 680’s design for its GTX 670 FTW graphics card. The fan is silent in idle mode but even when it’s under full load you won’t hear it until you’re really close to the computer. Bear in mind that the GPU was overclocked from 915MHz to 1006MHz and that the cooler is still silent. In fact, this is the best GTX 670 cooling solution we’ve tested so far."

-Notice in quite a few of the benchmarks the EVGA 670 FTW pounds reference 680's-

you have to be freaking kidding me. there was nothing wrong with my card as for as temps go and I have excellent case air flow. all it uses is the reference 680 cooler which most certainly exceeds 70 C in every review out there. did you even look at your own link because even at stock clocks it was hitting 77 C? and the 680 cooler is far from the best cooling solution. wow some of you guys really just see what you want to see I guess...lol.

Not sure what to tell ya my clocks are 1300mhz which is a considered a huge OC. Yet to see above 67C even after 6-8 hours of gaming. What case do you have and what kind of fans are you using? Maybe you need to clean your case?

lol, please stop acting like I am a noob. my case is in my sig and its just fine.  you were the one that linked to the review and it showed 77 C on stock clocks so it backs up what I said. you either have a fan profile or you are not checking the temps during FULL load. its just that simple.

and all they said was that it was the best cooling solution they had tested "so far".  any non reference cooler would cool much better and quieter. really all you did was make yourself look silly by linking to the review that actually backs up what I told you.

Just about everyone in this forums agrees the cards should not get above 67C...I'd say you have something going on with your set up...

your own damn link shows 77 C for stock clocks. you are NOT running FULL load if you are only in the 60s and that is a FACT.

Sorry but maybe we should just start a thread about the temps of our cards and get out of this one about the firmware. Just a suggestion.

Could be your case considering it comes with only 2 120mm fans that run at 1200rpm...I didn't even know they made fans that slow

Not sure why it went off track so badly. The thread is about new firmware for the Evga GTX 670. It fixed two things:

  • Improved stability
  • Improved compatibility with DELL XPS 8300 systems

The arguing about temps, and fans needs to stop now.

So after I posted, a couple members posted  Personal Attacks, and their posts were deleted. Let's do this another way then. Looks like some people may not have understood what I was trying to say above.

Next "Personal Attack", or any other TOS violation that occurs in this thread will most likely get a warning. I hope everyone understands me now.

                                                               *General Warning*

EDIT: After this was posted, another Personal Attack was posted. The post was deleted, and a warning was sent. (It's not a good idea to continue TOS violations after a "General Warning" has been issued)

In battlefield 3 i randomly got 19 fps.... after i updated the bios, i think am also getting less FPS.. these cards should only perform 5-10 fps less than a GTX 680, thats why i bought it. Any tips or reason why my FPS is fluctuating?
