Terrible firmware update for me.

Flashed my card using the instructions given by EVGA, everything went smoothly, rebooted, played around ~1hr of BF3, closed BF3, started reading some emails, opened a Youtube video then all of the sudden... Boom! monitor went black, sound froze so it must have been a hard lock/BSOD/etc (I didn't get a picture of the error because for some reason when using the DVI-D port of my GTX 670 FTW [My BenQ monitor runs at 144Hz] I get no signal from Windows BSODs, my motherboard's POST Screen, etc, but that's a different issue).

Either way, I pressed the reset button, went into Windows, and right when I was searching for Event Viewer to see what went on, I got the same thing, screen went black, PC crashed again, etc, this went on for about 2 more reboots.

I powered off the PC completely after that, 6 hours later (GF came by my house so I couldn't perform more tests right away), I booted my PC, Windows message showed up saying that Windows didn't close correctly blah blah, clicked Ok or something that made me restart the computer, and then boom, screen went black again, this time with a No Signal message from my Monitor.

So right after that, I decided to try the iGPU from my 2500K to see if this was related to the GTX 670 or something else.

Enabled the iGPU in the UEFI, switched the DVI-D cable to the onboard DVI output, rebooted, and then Windows booted up perfectly, It's been running for over ~1hr without an issue, resolution is crap but that's because I don't have any Intel HD drivers installed.

So my question is: How do I fix this? will I have to downgrade to the previous Firmware? (I've never done this before so I would need all the help as possible), RMA the card? what are my options here?

Thanks in advanced fellas.

Hi. I Have been lurking on these forums for some time and finally decided to flash my GTX 670 FTW. Don't see any real difference yet.

However GPU-Z didn't save my original bios correctly. Could someone from EVGA be so kind and send it to me - in case I ever need it. It's 80.04.31.00.72 for 02G-P4-2678-KR.

Until JacobF says its a must have on our GPU then I would go experimenting with it knowing that warranty will not be a problem, but like most people would say If it ain't broken why fix it? My (2X) 670GTX 4GB SLI have different Firmware
1st > Older GPU Firmware I Updated to 80.04.4B.00.70 <
2nd >Newer GPU I purchase came with 80.04.4B.00.71 <
I said to my self ahh another updated Firmware!? Yet there were no Firmware 80.04.4B.00.71 added on forum in order to update my older GPU again? so I left as is & have no issues what so ever to this date, keep in mind others were having issues with Firmware 80.04.4B.00.70< It's like a Firmware gamble it works for some & it doesn't for others, I personally don't have time or money to gamble with PC parts if its not a necessity why bother? to feel better cause its up to date?

I know the stress I hope those having issues get things back to normal working conditions, Good Luck

Is your 670 Oc'd above the factory OC?  If so, set to default and then close the program before the flash.  Also close any other monitoring software you might be using before flashing.  Beyond that, it should work.  I assume that you selected the correct bios for your specific card.

UEFI versions of this BIOS are now available, if you want it please send a mail to support@evga.com

Improvement indeed!!! Seeing a higher overall power target in most benchmarks(133%-140%), as well as better overclocks-- 1335mhz core now. I was using the first bios flash prior to this, not the 4b, the 4b caused instability for me.

Received an email from support with what should be the UEFI version, but sure it's the same as the one I already had.  GPU-z shows vBIOS as 80.04.19.00.F2, is this correct?
