Some of the "initial" cards benefited from this,it would be safe to say any cards purchased after this update would already have any bios update applied at evga.

Altering Bio's without consent and being advised to do so by EVGA directly and them providing the Bio's technically voids warranty .Altho you may find a bio's elsewhere but be advised to save the original bios in case you need to RMA as your Bios on file for that serial number must match of warranty is void when submitted for RMA or Step up .

Why is there no bios update for the FTW+ 4GB?

wasn't needed, different PCB most likely had better bios (almost same as 680 as same PCB and layout but gpu was clipped)Same as no 680 bios were ever deemed "needing" a bios update, only a few select first run reference 670's did .(ie 670FTW non-reference)

I just brought the GTX670 FTW S2 from Amazon. It comes with VBIOS:80.04.31.00.71.  Is this the latest version? If not, where can I download the latest one? Thx.

Wow, didn't even know there was a Bios update for my card.  I have a 2Gb version of the FTW, and the bios is 80.04.19.00.70  how old is that?  More importantly what does the bios update bring?  I don't over-clock my card, and i use Afterburner to manually adjust the fan.

again this was for the initial run of cards ,cards made after the post date have newer bios already.
If you read the first post you would know this ....
Firmware Update v80.04.4B
(not SC not FTW just the regular 670 was what this was intended for back on 10/16/12
Q. How can I tell what version I firmware I currently have?
A. There are multiple ways to do this, one way is to right click on desktop and go to NVIDIA control panel. Click on Help, then System Information. Scroll to the bottom of the Details window and it will show your "Video BIOS version". It will be listed as EXAMPLE: 80.04.31.00.72. The numbers in bold identify the version number.
  5C is well after 4B ....
