I was having red/white/(insert color here) screen crashes originally and the firmware update seemed to have stopped them. However, I still encounter display driver crashes, regardless of version, every single time I play Battlefield 3. The screen (both monitors in my case) go black and then lose signal.

Occasionally I'm able to alt-ctrl-del out of the crash and recover from it, but other times the system goes unresponsive and I'm forced to hard-reset. I'm not too thrilled about doing so either since I'm running my OS install on a RAID - I'm just waiting for the time it corrupts.

The firmware upgrade seem to help with some things but it hasn't resolved whatever is causing my 670 to absolutely dispise Battlefield.

Ok a new bios that throttles more,  I'm going to stay on the original.
I just got my 670 FTW a week ago and I have noticed some weird behavior in terms of boosting.

My max boost clock is 1163mhz at stock, but it won't get there unless it hits 63-64c with TDP peaking 100% - 104%, with my current fan profile it barely hits 61c while playing BF3, Skyrim Modded.  But if I change my fan profile to allow those games to reach mid 63c/64c/65c/66c the card will boost to 1163mhz.  Otherwise it's 1150mhz at the most.

I thought these chips were meant to get the highest boost possible out of the silicon draw as long as the thermal requirements are met.  Basically anywhere below 70c.

Try updating punkbuster for BF3 crashing.  I went to evenbalance.com and downloaded pbsetup ran it, added bf3 to it and updated.  Hasn't crashed my game since.

I was also getting an error message pointing at and an Nvidia dll.

I would really like to see a full white paper on the new bios,  my card is already middle of the road and I don't think it needs the bios update for more aggressive power throttling.

Dumb question but I'll ask, sorry if someone already has.

Assuming we follow the instructions, updating BIOS does NOT void warranty, correct?

Well finally today I've updated my bios...

I bought a while ago an SLI Bridge from EVGA and it that doesn't work properly, it makes my cards have some strange artifacts and well I thought "I may try the new bios", tried it but I haven't got rid of artifacts... So I thought in testing each card which they worked flawlessly when not in SLI, So I replaced my "new" bridge and it seems I've got everything fixed ( Yeah spent some money on a bridge with about 2 weeks and it isn't working, quite bad evga  )

Resuming I've updated my bios *, and well the best part is here, previously I couldn't get more than 15+ on GPU Offset with 550+ on Memory, keep in mind that my cards boost out of box to 1228/1215, now with this new bios I can OC alot more! It's working at 70+ GPU Offset and 550+ on Memory, which result in 1293/1280 Mhz which is an awesome OC In my opinion for two GTX 670 FTW's, thanks alot evga for this update!

* Keep in mind that I've modded by my own my bios ( the newest ) to take advantage of full Fan speed ( 25-100% ), that way I can keep cards under 63Cº at the OC'ed speeds!
