Welcome aboard guys !
I do love that Radeon HD 7970 Steve, it's a real beauty!
I will say the red RADEON looks very nice inside there and YES , . the image quality is slightly better than the Nvidia along with the bonus of --> the strange screen blackouts i have been getting from the last 3 Nvidia drivers are now totally GONE !!
I was thinking it previously might have been the monitor, cable or card drivers but now I can say it was probably the Nvidia drivers ....
I played all weekend on the Radeon with NO screen blackouts what-so-ever....
Heh oh yeah that problem ... tell me about it
I am waiting for the ATi Dpet. AMD Radeon HD 7990 to arrive, the reference model that is, I am not much in to them triple slot cards much these days, I know that Power-Color released one, but it's fugly as you know who and it's triple slot, rather useless to me.
here it is btw:
http://www.techpowerup.co...-HD-7990-Revealed.html So I wait a bit more then, it's good to have some patience, right

Why the HD 7990, well since my system supports SLI only, this is a neat solution for my situation too

And you can enable and disable CFX with these Dual chip cards also, as I have had with my HD 6990 I had some time ago

Works like a charm
Driver wise, ATi Department AMD, as most VGA card collectors like myself call them; have done a much better job at programming suitable and stable drivers that get the job done and they also managed to make CFX scale much better than SLI in 2-Way, 3-Way and 4-Way setups as Tri & Quad CFX setups go, which has been like this since their HD 6000 series.
Over the past year I have been following this and the reason to go Radeon only makes more sense to me these days
It's just the waiting sometimes hehe, at least they never released a half completed product, they have learned alot since the release of their HD 2900 XT, heh.
