Guys, I just found something out. You know the lisedaconfigurator for adjusting setting and turning bloom off. Well, I had messed with the field of distance (turned it up to 100 from 55) and it make you run faster, or it seems to. I messed with the pre rendered frames as well (turned it up from the lowest setting). In either case it makes people get the jump on me and lots of shooting someone but they don't die. Please, try these setting and tell me what you think.

You don't run faster, your FOV gets wider so things move faster off the sides of your screen than with the smaller FOV.

You should try 75-80 FOV... I find 100 FOV too much and harder to play, 55 is of course much too small. I play with 80.

Thnx for the explanation, I might mess with it more. What about the pre-render, I could swear it has a negative effect.

Are you saying both increasing the FOV and Render ahead made you more vulnerable and less accurate?

I found the "Battlefield: BC2 FOV Calculator" helpful. I hope you do as well.

I play with 90deg. FOV. Everything over 100 makes me motion sick.

Saw this on the EA forums, and thought it was a good depiction of what modifying the FOV value will do.

These are taken at 1920x1200 resized

I play with FOV 85 and have since launch. For me it's perfect. But yea, it seems like you are running really fast at first.:)

Thnx for the responses, that calc. (interesting info, thnx) is suggesting a 65 setting @ 1920x1200. I'll try it. Oddly, it seems worse the closer I am to another player. I don't think it makes me less accurate, but the strikes seem to have less effect. I now that sounds lame, but I hear the same thing from a lot of other players. Something, that happens often with me. On my end, my player seems to take a long time to respond. For instance, aiming the gun (the action to raise the gun up), or knifing (the action to lift his arm up to knife). This seems to be an instant action for others. Of course when other players are glitchy it's 10 worse. I'm not complaining just trying to figure this stuff out. I just find myself saying "that's BS" way more then other mp fps I've played.

He's got a sweet eyefinity setup going on. I might try one of those IR tracker setups to be able to look around, kinda the same for a single monitor.

Im running 75 fov for 1920x1200.  Ever since i changed my games went downhill, maybe will take a while to get adjusted but its knocked me all to ****.  1 on 1 knife fights i dont think ive won one since i changed fov, whereas before i would get the majority of them.  Idk, this and the ridiculous amounts of spamming 40mm nades are really grinding down my patience, find myself getting more and more annoyed.

Off topic here but is there any servers with 40mm nades disabled, is it possible yet?

I set mine to 120 degrees. Much better for me, but starts to get a bit of the fish eye effect going on. I'll have to play with render distance, I wish the majority of games would let you change it. I hate watching stuff pop up in front of me (like appearing out of nowhere) in a lot of games.

I tried this little tweak and I must say it didnt work for me on my GTX 285 SLI.  Reaction time and lag (on graphics) was extremely bad.
According to the calculator it says to set it at 65 fov for 1920x1200, didnt work at all. Switched it back to 55 (default) and I am ok.
To those who swicthed back and forward on the FOV, be sure to reboot your computer so the changes will take place.  Exiting the game doesnt help

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags!
The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. When you abuse it, it reverses on you and it hurts you.The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

They don't need to disable them, they need to make them do the same amount of damage for friendly fire (or suicide fire, ie. point blank nade or AT shots).

Well i would like to see a cap on how many you can get, with even ammo restocks not re supplying them.  Really spoiling the game i think.  I guess totally disabling them is not gonna happen as they have there uses, but come on using them at close range and whoring them all the time of which alot of players do is so lame.  Surely dropping someone with a few well placed headshots is more satisfying, not to mention the extra points you get.

Plus they seem totally inconsistent. 1 game many people were spamming them so I started to use them. I was getting hit from a foot away, but when I was trying that peeps wouldn't die. Two times I was on a quad, going to run them over and going fast. From a foot away I get nail with the tube the bike blows up on top of them and nothing happens to them = lame. I would much rather play with FF on. All this was not on the EVGA server though.

Back on topic, I set the FOV on 65, the recommended setting for me and it is working good. I just have to find a server where I don't die instantly by everyone else and have to unload a entire clip to cripple them. It isn't ping related for me either, but when this is consistently happening I just move on.

I am at 65.  Anything higher and things seem further away than they should be.  Sure, opening up FOV lets you see more to the side, but it reduces things in front of you.

That's what I thought at first, but read the second post. It's just an illusion, but if it works for you and doesn't affect your k/d it's good. I can't go above the recommended setting for my resolution or it affects this.
