Replacing the VRAM thermal pads and adding the VRM thermal pad fix will solve the problem. The BIOS flash is a gimmick as all it does is increase the fan speed and does not address the thermal conductivity issues of the cards.

I thought the VRAM issue is affecting only the FTW and other custom PCB versions. Does it also affect the SC?

If the SC has a midplate, then yes, it will probably affect it, too. However, keep in mind not every EVGA card has such a gap, its just pretty widespread.

I was just about to create a thread to ask if the "thermal mod" will include thermal pads for the VRAM too? I have now seen several naked cards where the VRAM does not make contact with the thermal pads currently installed, I am getting further alarmed, I don't mind applying a fix there too, I just need to know if we will get a fix. :/

I haven't taken my card apart yet as I am waiting for the thermal mod, but seriously, I don't want to wait another month, just ship an extra stip/s for the VRAM too please?

Thank you, it seems we will get them, if they haven't shipped yet.
