Only is stupid because many people can't afford iPhone and it would be much better if Apple think on that part of population and launch some budget version.
They always could launch very similar phone to most expensive models only for much less price and few months after 7 and 7s show up. 
I'm sorry for all people who can't pay 700+ dollars for phone and wish iPhone. Many of them become haters after some time and search some cheaper Galaxy.
But SE is perfect for people who could pay only limited price. 
I like Black color most, mat, not glossy, you? First I liked silver before I saw white on front as previous models.

GS7 is $650, GS7e is $750, and the Note7 was $800+ (not counting the recall).  HTC10 was $699, LG G5 was $649, as was the Nexus6.  It's not just about not being able to afford the phone - if I was given an iPhone for free I would gladly pay $500+ for an Android...  Strike that - I would sell the iPhone for some ridiculously high price and still come out ahead after paying for my Android.  I'm also sorry for Apple fans and their new stupid commercial about how this great this phone is because it's waterproof...  Such innovation I already forgot that the GS5 came out 2.5 years ago and the Xperia Z was released 3.5 years ago - both are water resistant. 
 
I don't think Apple would release a "budget" version of their phone.  Their thought process is that they are a "premium/luxury" brand and that would go against everything they stand for...  I mean look at how you said - people would love this phone but they just can't afford it so they are haters.  That right there fits the Apple philosophy to a tee and is one of many reasons I refuse to buy their products.
