Hi, I recently purcharsed the forementioned GPU and i installed it, it displayed, then i proceed to install the driver that came with the CD (344.60) and directx 10/11 that comes with it on the CD. Then upon reboot, it displayed nothing, i had to get into windows by teamviewer. First it showed the bios but video went out upon displaying the windows logo, then subsequent reboots it showed nothing. I uninstalled the driver and i got video with generic driver that windows supply. So I thought well it is a software problem, so i updated to the latest drivers 353 from their website and nothing. Maybe its windows... I did a clean windows installation, installed the directx they supply on the disc and the driver from disc, and it worked, played AC unity for 2 hours and then it sounded like when you disconnect a usb and the video went out. I thought it was the GPU hot but i left the case open and it was not hot at all, the fan works fine, and ive been troubled with this since friday, ive done like 5 clean windows installations and the combo that works is fresh install, use their directx, download latest net framework and visual studio from the web and not let any game installation setup directx and install the driver from disc LAST and that's only gotten me 1-2 hours of work then it crashes and no video, not even uninstalling the driver gets me video. Last night i did what i mentioned before (the winning combo) and after an hour of AC unity it crashed so i went to bed) in the morning i turned it on and it worked but crashed again after 1-2 hours, i didnt install anything whatsoever. Im almost certain its a problem with the driver and the directx or maybe its 64bit thingy, i can't think of anything. A friend tells me that maybe the mobo is not compatible, but i tried to setup everything with another mobo i have Gigabyte and that one sure gets no video at all not even see the bios logo. What am i missing? because im on the brink of smashing that videocard, i thought that was plug-n-play but it has been a hell. please help.
Is there a list of compatible GPUs vs mobo's cause i couldn't find any, and if it was the mobo, wow i must be in such a luck to have 2 incompatible of different brands, if so i want to be sure, not to invest more money in this charade. I have lost joy of playing games and building pc with this hell of a week.
PS: i took the pc to a repair shop and the technician has no clue either. so i figured i;d be best at home.
