Noctua u 12s and fractal design venturi HP 120mm PWM  (without any modifications), very silent and well built fans..

It will fit vertical mounted with all 4 DIMM slots populated in push and pull config, its close but they don't mate  (no contact with dimms or the vrm heatsink behind)

I have 4 DIMMS of predator, U12s and these fans in P/P

 The Venturi fans have a rpm/voltage range that fit the smart fan profile pretty good in bios, the voltage roof only needs to be cut to 85% = 630 rpm idle / 1400 rpm max rpm

 Otherwise the will idle at +1000 RPM

adapter made-->
 I used the PWM signal from the cpu fan header, smart mode  pin 4

And grabbed the power from the PWR header, set to DC mode in bios, and 85% duty  pin 1 and 2

the RPM wire can be added to any of the two headers above for a reading (not a must) pin 3

I have not measured to lowest voltage in the smart fan setting, but my guess is around 8v at lowest with this fan header (cpu fan)

PS: a fan with a low startup voltage, and high rpm roof, will not have a very good RPM range with this bios, and will be noisy as well

Pick the PWM fans with care for use with this board, if your planning on connecting them to the cpu fan header in smart mode, and want a silent operation, or buy ear covers

    If you have trouble replying to a post try logging out and logging back into the forum, maybe also try another browser.

    I have also been having a random issue the last few days regarding posting a long reply. Short replies work fine. Long replies randomly don't do anything (don't post, don't error, don't do anything). I try over and over again, copy/paste the text, reload pages over and over again, but nothing works. I come back again later, and it works fine. While long replies don't work, I can ppst a short reply without any issues. Something is wrong on eVGA's end.
