ok got it well I am going to try and raise the vdimm with the 2:10  to see if it passes linX 100 pass once I have that stable or I go to a very high vdimm and still not stable I will go try the 2:8 with tighter timings and compare whats faster and stick with whatever I see is a fasterthe reason I am going to try linX is because I really don't feell like wait 12 hour for prime95 to pass

testing it now with 1.68 vdimm and one thing I already notice is that with it at 1.65 my GFlops was 54.xxx sometimes 55.xxxx now its at 52.xxx doesn't that mean it not stable I remember reading somewhere that once you see the GFlops start going down and not up it means it will most like not be stable is this true?

Jumped to vdimm 1.69 and GFlops went back up to 54.xxxx will let you know I am doing LinX 100 test so it could be a while let me keep my fingers crossed if it stable will try 2:8 with tighter timings then compare and see whats better

No. It mostly points to your vcore is a little low and your cpu isnt getting enough voltage to keep running high gflops.

ok I think its 100% Stable I am still running linX but so far its done 56 tests and no errors once it completes the 100 test I will post the settings I used and a pic  I am using vdimm 1.73 and the 2:8 divider with the 6-6-6-18 timings

Nice job. 6-6-6-18 timings is not easy to do on DDR3. Im assuming you tried 1.71 and 1.72 with no luck.

61 passes and your not satisfied??.....LOL.  Most people run 20 passes and call it good......LOL.  I seriously doubt you will have any issues at all with the system passing 61 runs of LinX....... call it good and move on!!

Thats my point, I think 60+ passes is about as rock stable as they come........  Have you tried running without Vdroop??  I bet you could lower the CPU volts some if you tried that.

I am only pointing out what intel says, heck they also say not to run vdimm over 1.65. But the real issue is voltage difference between Vtt and vdimm. I would try higher Vtt, if you are running your vdimm at 1.73 then you should run Vtt at min of 1.233 or about +.150. I do not know anyone that has fried a cpu, I have heard of it happening though.

More like there has been a lot of talk, but no evidence or stories of it actually damaging a CPU.......  I've had it off since day one, never a single issue.  Been since this E759 was released.....

EVGA VDroop Control ( With VDroop )
CPU VCore ( 1.41250v )
CPU VTT Voltage ( +100mv )
CPU PLL VCore ( 1.500v )
**IOH PLL VCore ( 1.500v )
DIMM Voltage ( 1.73 )  This high of a setting puts you above  0.5 of Vtt which means you could fry your CPU. As mentioned earlier in this thread
DIMM DQ Vref ( Auto) (+0mV)  vdimm and Vtt should not exceed .5v difference. It's your processor.
QPI PLL VCore ( 1.3 )
IOH VCore ( 1.175 )
IOH/ICH I/O Voltage ( 1.525 )
**VTT PWM Frequency ( 370 KHZ )
**CPU PWM Frequency ( 940 KHZ )
**CPU Impedance ( Less )
**QPI Signal Compensation ( Less )

so what are you saying I do  riase the vtt or lower the vdimm or what kinda confuse is to what u want me to do ?

I am only pointing out what intel says, heck they also say not to run vdimm over 1.65. But the real issue is voltage difference between Vtt and vdimm. I would try higher Vtt, if you are running your vdimm at 1.73 then you should run Vtt at min of 1.233 or about +.150. I do not know anyone that has fried a cpu, I have heard of it happening though.

I don't understand when I check eleet it says that my vtt is at 1.3 with +100 in the bios and you just told me that I need it at least 1.233 or about +150 but if eleet shows me its at 1.300v ain't I already over the 1.233 ?  I am very confused

Re:help me overclock my classified plz 2009/12/24 19:41:25 (permalink)
VTT at +0mv = 1.200  Each mv represents .001.   So starting from 1.2 add 99mv you get 1.299, add 100mv and you get 1.300.

100mv = .100
125mv = .125
and so on

so if your vdimm is 1.73 in bios.      (1.73) - (.5) = 1.23

1.23 comes out to +30mv. Do not VTT to +25mv or below as this will exceed the .5 difference. I recommend staying above +75mv
