ok I raise the vcore to 1.4 is that ok for 24/7?

well I decide to start agian at 3.9 volts as wwas not to sure I need more going to test it a bit more at 3.9 before I go to 1.4v as when I tested it at 3.9 it passed 3 test of linx but then I start a set of 20 test to see if it was completely stable and my computer froze no BOSD just  frozen so going to give it another shot and then if it fails riasing the vtt 1 notch see if that helps also I have my ram still at 2:8 until I know for sure  100% its stable at 4.2gigs then i'll start to raise the memory 

At what settings are you now?

well I riased it to 1.4 volts as it got an error on the first test of linx at 1.39 vcore and vtt +150  problem is when I had it at 1.39v and +125 vtt my GFLOPS in linx were 53.xxxx now at 1.4 and vtt +100 and the GFlops are at 27.xxxx ? is it not stable thats why its droped so low?

well I lower the IOH VCore to 1.1250  and I think it help a bit as before with it at 1.150 and my vcore at 1.4000v after the first test i would get an error now it took 6 test before an error I am now testing with vcore 1 notch up if it fails guess i will go higher vcore 

Nice overclock. What voltage increase was the one that got you to pass 20 tests?

I would say you are good 84C max in linx is fine, Though I would think with the cooling you have temps should be a little lower. What type of fans on the  Prolimatech Mega Shadow? And which THERMALTAKE ARMOR do you have?  Top fan blowing out side blowing in? Point being perhaps a little more air flow would help reduce your temps. That said you should be fine, but it never hurts to get it colder.

these are fans I have on it i have 2 on it in a push pull config fan closest to memory pulls air into the heat sink and the one in the back pulls air to another 180cm case fan thats pushing air out my case I also used diamond 7 carat thermal thing is I think I need to reapply it I just have this feeling that that tell me that that were my problem is I am going to reapply it later today and if it fixs my problem  any suggestions?

also note the reason for max temp 84 is because I had a fan right outside my case pushing air  into it if I didn't it would have been alot  alot higher I don't know for sure by how much as I did not want to find out but I think it would have been around 88 or 89 on one core but since u siad that normally there is no program that we use in every day life that can get it that hot thats why right?

I don't have the top exhaust any more as I had to take it  off so my 1000 watt power supply would fit  

well I raise my memory now and tryed it with vtt 100 and I got an error  right after test 12 so I riased my vtt to +125 an dmy computer froze about 30 sec into linx so I raise it agian to +150 and then got a BSOD any idea on what setting I need to change need a little help plz

Yea I am jealous

I cant run mine at 4.2ghz without having temps above 85c.  I was just saying you should think about what speed you really need as compared to what speed you really want.

Yea I wanted 4.5ghz or beyond but my chip cant do it unless I have crazy cooling. The truth is, with my 2 GTX 280's in SLI, all i really NEED is about 3.6ghz. Ive ran tests from 3.2ghz to 4ghz on all the games I play. It turned out that everything above 3.6ghz ran exactly the same. So for example... Crysis Benchmark had a max fps of 71 and min of 29 @ 3.6ghz and then at 4ghz Crysis Benchmark had a max avg of 71 fps and a minimum avg of 29. I ran the tests 3-4 more times at 4ghz, some runs were worse than my 3.6 and some runs were better. All in all they were about the same.

Is your memory overclocked beyond 1600mhz? Whats the actual ddr3 speed?
 Also having the 2:10 divider ups the Uncore frequency from 16x to 20x. This alone will cause instability if you dont give it enough voltage.

Listen to AWalleyeguy, he's been helping you more than I have and knows more of what you've been through already.

It would actually be better if you ran your memory under clocked with tightened timings. Like 1333mhz 6-6-6-18. vs 1550mhz 8-8-8-24

ok so what would I need to change to get it to run at 6-6-6-18 what setting beside that?

 Memory Frequency ( 1333 / 2:10 )            2:6  might even be able to lower Vtt.
