I was browsing universal gun cleaning kits and noticed this info below on Winchester Gun cleaning kit. Why would they put that information on a gun cleaning kit and not air rifles or crossbows sold on amazon by Winchester.

It is ridiculous, but there are ways around it.

It's a stupid law in any event. Even on Magazines and rounds imo....*shrug* Magazines and rounds are pretty useless without the firearm to go with it.
 
If someone is willing to get an illegal firearm, they'll also be willing to get an illegal magazine and rounds...once again, the law abiding citizen is hurt,
criminals..nothing..they scoff.
 

Funny Story.  
 
I went to basic training shortly after the Oklahoma City Bombing.  Terrorism was just staring to become a common work in the US (and after the first world trade center bombing).  My dad who is a very strong supporter of the 2nd amendment was quite pleased to hear I qualified expert in my weapon qualification scores.  
 
He mailed me a standard mil spec gun cleaning kit (the kind that was designed to go into the stock of an M16.  I got pulled into the commanders office (which when your a private might as well be the pearly gates themselves) and got the 3rd degree.  
 
I guess they were just making sure that I wasn't going to get a bomb in the mail next. 
 
OH YEA...  Cheaper than Dirt wont send me a replacement pistol grip for my AR.  Its a piece of PLASTIC, and they wont send it.  What is this world coming to??

This was almost 20 years ago.  I have no shortage of cleaning supplies now ;)

You can actually buy these things about 75% of the time lol.
 
It's illegal to have ammunition shipped into the Los Angeles area, Yet certain companies have shipped it, No questions asked.
