I bought a b-stock 970 ftw last week and it arrived today. Unfortunately I can't get it to work with my system. When I start it up I get spinning fans (case, cpu, and gpu) but it won't boot, no beeps, no bios splash screen. Things I've tried:

- reseating the card and cables, several times
- updating the mobo's bios
- pulling the cmos battery for a few minutes, because why not

None of that helped. The rest of my components are getting a little long in the tooth now. i5-2500k, msi p67a-c43 (b3) motherboard, and an ocz fatal1ty 550w psu. Unfortunately I don't have another pc to test the card in. Anyone think it could be that power supply or have any ideas on anything else I can try?

Take the card to your local computer repair shop to have it tested.

Either that, or try another PSU first. It may well be the PSU.

Put in a new 750w Corsair psu and still no go, just spinning fans. Put my xfx 7870 back in and it booted right up. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

So you got it work then? Maybe it was just a bad connection or something...

No, he got his old 7870 to work. Sounds like he got a bad B-stock card. I'm sure someone from Evga will chime in soon. I would contact them to see what they can do. Looks like you have tried all the logical things already.

As a last ditch hail mary, after combing the back of the ftw with a magnifying glass for a couple minutes, I managed to find and toggle the bios switch to what I guess is the secondary bios, but I guess not too surprisingly it still wouldn't post. Still also worth a shot, just for the thrill of the hunt and the ten seconds worth of hope.

Oh, I just got a message from support about an RMA and a prepaid shipping label. Yay!

Finally got my replacement card and it works! I'm happy now, but I probably won't ever be going the b-stock route again.

Good for You. And yet again, EVGA lives up to it's reputation of being the best at customer service. Now if they would only produce a 980 Ti Hydro Copper so that I may SLI the lonely one I already have  :(
