So i am seeing a ton of great deals on the 970 4 gb , and i really want to take the plunge , but I am un sure if i am going to see a good difference going from one to the other .
I use a monitor that resolution is 2560x1440. and also do a tipple monitor setup for certain games .

so what i am thinking is selling both my 680 4gb with water blocks for a buy on 2 plane evga 970s . and save up for water blocks later .
should I jump or ???
input needed fast !!
thanks

    Informative thread, Carpenter.

    @OP  - Personally, I didn't feel the need to upgrade to a 900-series card, and I'm only running 1 GTX 680 with 2 GB VRAM.

    In my opinion, since you have the 4 GB cards, and they're already under water where you can overclock to their max, the performance increase wouldn't be that great.

    Judging from the fact that you're still rocking an i7 920, I am assuming that you are the kind of guy that sticks with something of value for the long haul.

    @OP
    If I had origianlly grabbed 2x 4GB GTX 670's I'll be honest in saying I probably would have never jumped to my 970 SLI setup. The 670/680 in SLI still perform amazing, and should produce superb framerates at higher/highest IQ for at least another few years to come I'd imagine. It all depends on what resolution you're playing at too...... For anything above 1080, it just may be worth it, it terms of raw performance.

    I say yes. I try to upgrade when a single card comes out that equals or surpasses the performance of the SLI setup I have currently.

    Im also thinking about upgrading, currently 680 ftw 4gb sli, Im waiting for a single card to power my 1440p monitor, games push my 680 ftw to the max just to achieve 60 fps.
