Hello everyone, So just recently bought parts to build a new pc. Everything went well but my device manager can't seem to detect my GPU(EVGA gtx 1060 3gb). I tried installing the latest driver but it says that no hardware found compatible for this driver. I plugged everything right which i checked a lot of times. I have my HDMI port attached to the gpu and it is working but I can't seem to find the GPU in device manager. Iam not sure if the PCI-E slot in my board is not working. But I think it is as i can't use my monitor with hdmi port on my motherboard. Is my GPU dead on arrival? Can anyone enlighten me with a solution to this problem? I am using windows 10 64 bit. processor:i5 6500, PSU:cx 430, Motherbaord:H110M-HDS, RAM: 8GB team elite, HDD:Segate baracuda 1tb 7200RPM, GPU:evga gtx 1060 3gb sc gaming

Have you tried another PCI-E slot? Maybe it's a dud, yes.

Inquiring minds will want to know specifics about your system, so please provide hardware and Operating Sytem info. Thanks and, Welcome to the forum! p.s. Ensure you have the latest Windows update, and check with motherboard mfg for latest bios. (that's about the extent of my technical knowledge, so the rest of the community will take over now. peace)

Let me just see if I'm getting this right. You have your monitor connected to the card and you seem to get an image. The only thing you are unable to do is find the card on the device manager. Right? The only things you can do, seeing as you only have one PCI-E slot is: 1- Go to the BIOS and make sure your integrated gpu is turned off, reboot and then see if it detects it (it probably is already turned off, since there's no interface connected, but you never know) 2- If possible try another card on that same board, if Windows detects it, the card is probably a dud and the motherboard is fine 3- If you have access to another PC, try installing the card on it to see if Windows detects it. If it doesn't the card is the problem.
