Bowenac Yea obviously they intended people to shoot at a person and not behind them so everyone is supporting an amateur developer and sticking up for them when they should be liable. True, so start burning up their forums and DICE's e-mail boxes if you dont' want to make the adjustments. Bowenac Those settings are not in the damn file. You are adding them. If they wanted people to be able to do this, the configuration would already be in the damn file. This comes down to your connection and server you are playing on there is no denying it. Your making up for your crap connections. Yeah, my "crap connection", my "crap system", I connect to the EVGA server @ ~50-70ms. The two variables that aren't in the configuration file are set at ~100ms whether they are in the file or not. So you are playing with the hit boxes of your targets @ 100ms. I'm playing with my hit boxes @ 60ms. What is your connection to the server like? Bowenac If this is not the case then tell me why the **** this only effects certain players. If it was a problem with the game it would be effecting everyone so don't say ohhh well, thats what you get for not being a nerd and browsing forums all day for tweaks to fix games. Well I pay attention to my shots. If I'm not hitting I try and correct my aim so I hit. I noticed my corrections had me aiming so my bullets traveled behind targets for hits. With the corrections to the variables to represent my correct ping to the server, my bullets that travel behind targets miss and the bullets that travel to my target hit. I'm sure that for those it doesn't help their connections are close to the default, so no change is needed. Bowenac And please will someone show me where DICE the ****ing developer said go and edit your file and add these values. I don't give a **** what EA, or PB say because they both suck in my opinion. EA just wants money, and PB only works when it wants to. Any of you guys have to do this for other games as well besides DICE games didn't think so. This proves dice should get there **** together and make this a setting in the game. And since they WANT everyone to do just that why the hell are they not letting everyone know about it. Yea takes a whole 30 seconds to update a ticker I sure they can't fit that into there schedule. The fact that this fix is a sticky on the game's support forums isn't good enough for you I guess. Bowenac Don't sit here and make me look like the bad guy, I started off giving my opinion and most of you got but hurt maybe because you feel ashamed, or guilty. I hope you all feel like your doing nothing wrong in game. I will go and use an aimbot now since the game is not accurate with my shots. I mean I am aiming at the body like the developers expect me to but the bullets rarely hit the enemy. **** it going to go edit this file right now I just can't take not getting any kills. That is what you all sounds like Editing a file designed for the exact purpose of editing in game variables has NOTHING to so with third party software. This edit doesn't put the cross hairs on the targets for me, third party software will. I'm not making you the bad guy, I'm trying to correct a flaw in your thought processes.
So much work to do... someone has to do it.

My thought process bwahahaha nice one. And you don't think you have a one up against others that play at default huh. Again how many times do I have to tell you I don't care what is on EA forum there is no one from DICE saying anything about this. They are the developers. For all I know EA forums are ran by a bunch of 12 year old mods and cheaters anyway. Have you ever had to talk to someone from EA there not very smart.

Bowenac pauljlindner One of the reasons why I was glad to change these values was seeing my bullets hit my target and I actually get credit for the hit. The server decides what is a hit or not. The client will show hits all day with blood and sound, but the server declares if it a hit or kill. I hated seeing bullets travel BEHIND my moving targets and getting credit for hitting. It didn't feel right or natural for me to see this. Why is it you guys can't understand what it is we are adjusting here? My hit boxes, the ones you are aiming at, aren't changing by myself changing these values. If you are hitting me with default settings, good. That is not what I have been talking about but you guys can't get this through your small heads. I am talking for little johnny down the road. He knows nothing about these settings, really suprising since DICE is telling everyone to edit there files RIGHT. But you know what he is still enjoying the game. Just like everyone should, you should all be playing the game and waiting for a fix or patch. Not making work arounds "While others that know nothing about this have to put up with these issues" You can't tell me that is not an advantage against a person with the same problem but no clue how to fix it. I find it hard to believe you really think that DICE can't fix this issue if they can't then they are horrible developers. I don't see this kind of problem on other games I play, And yet a bunch of you keep saying it happens in all dice games. You would think they would fix this by now or find someone who can. I don't know why this is a problem with DICE games, ask them. I don't think that DICE cant' fix it, I'm sure they can, but ask them why they don't fix it so no one has to bother editing stuff. I've already had friends leave the game because they know they are aiming at a target and hitting graphicly(blood spatter) but, the server declares no hits due to the hit box not being where the client thinks it is. Who will be more frustrated the person who doesn't pay attention to their shots or the one who does pay attention to their shots?

I have a fast connection (not super fast), and live a couple of hours away from the server location. I usually get 15, maybe 32 ping to the server. But since the default is not set to this specific connection, I get this problem with a good connection. And I love how people keep comparing this (which makes you supposedly shoot where YOU aim it) to aimbot (which aims FOR you). And sorry, but you are coming off like a tool to me. I thought I was polite, even said that I could see your point, and yet I get an angry response like this.

Bowenac has proven to be just a common troll. Don't feed him anymore. I have put him on permanent ignore. He has ignored all facts placed in front of him and just continued to flame. The tweaks are legal according to all sources. They are intended. If you don't think so, you are ignorant, if you don't want to apply them, you have your own opinions, if you think its too hard then you are just downright lazy.

Yea ok I just played with some of you a bit ago on evga server and you can tell the difference. People were agreeing with me about it. Some of you were killing me with like one shot while it still takes me a whole clip. Then the guy says get a better gun what ever. I thought you people from EGC were better then this. It still boggles my mind how any of you think this is normal. If they think it needs to be fixed then let them fix it. Let it be an option in the game to adjust it. Or just let the game adjust it like most games do. After some of your responses in the game I do not want to be a part of =EGC= anymore. I have proven to myself that this is in fact cheating to me when 90% of people who play this game prolly don't know about it. That would be like me playing a racing game and editing my settings file to make my tires more sticky, because for some reason they just won't stick on the road. So it is not cheating the file is there so I will just add this bit of code to it and fix that issue. While others just deal with it. Who do I contact to be taken off EGC? I will also be contacting a mod about your troll comments, I am clearly not a troll I have been here a while and there are people who agree with me on this. Some have already said so others prolly don't want to get into it.

No doubt this thread will be locked soon, but my opinions aside I am using contacts at evga to send letters to EA, Evenbalance and DICE asking for there opinion on the subject of this tweak and editing user config files in general. We have all seen the quote from Evenbalance, the stickied thread on EA's forums about the tweak and both of these are very strong evidence of this not being a "cheat" as some of you like to call it. But to finish this once and for all I hope to get a final ruling from the game developers themselves. So I ask that the mods keep this thread open until I get a response. That would be like me playing a racing game and editing my settings file to make my tires more sticky, because for some reason they just won't stick on the road. So it is not cheating the file is there so I will just add this bit of code to it and fix that issue. While others just deal with it. Actually, it would be like editing the config file so that it shows where you are on the track instead of showing you 3 feet behind from where you really are.

belatu Actually, it would be like editing the config file so that it shows where you are on the track instead of showing you 3 feet behind from where you really are. Same thing different words really. With your wording that would mean that it would be showing you three feet behind where you actually are and with that you could be slammed into a wall. So you would be editing this to make up for that so it would not happen. While others just deal with it and adjust accordingly in game. That is not fair IMHO. Because while you would be taking corners perfect others would still be wondering what the hell is going on and why they keep slamming into walls. But this is never and issue with racing games because they know how to develop actually there is one game that has issues. Guess who it is from EA NFS Shift. Go ahead and research microstutters. This is the only racing game that what you said above actually happens the damn thing will freeze for like 2-10 seconds and unfreeze then you slammed into a wall haha.

That is what a ticker in game is for to notify people of things.

Good for you Bowenac, for leaving the EVGA team. As you pointed out, they are disrespectful players in the servers and by looking at their stats in this game, cannot play it without Modding their game files for an unfair advantage. If this kind of modding is so 100% legit as they keep saying... Then why are they screaming at everyone about how it's "not really" a cheat. If this exploit was nothing at all, they would not even bother to say a word. Right? There is no need to defend, that which is honest and legit. Notice how its the same 4-5 guys who are so hell bent to rip into anyone with an honest opinion on this subject. Their repeated posting of harrassment and anger at anyone who disagrees with what they are doing speaks for itself. The EVGA members acting like this in the servers and in EVGA's own fourms are a disgrace. They can flame, troll, post up pictures and personaly attack everyone in defence of what every honest person knows is clearly a cheating exploit to gain an advantage. There will always be players willing to do anything for an advantage in playing videogames. That EVGA would support such players on its own EVGA team is very sad. And it is even sadder that EVGA has allowed their own EVGA clan members to act so disrespectfuly in these fourms and in their own EVGA servers. If any EVGA mods really care about running a respected squad, they need to clean house in the EVGA clan and setup some rules about respecting other players and acting like adults in the servers and in these fourms. All one needs to do is go into the EVGA server or read the posts in this thread, to see the truth of what EVGA clan gaming is today, and how it treats other players with honest opinions and fair gameplay. A group of disrespectful arrogant players wearing EVGA tags. The original post in this thread was like posting up how to change the serial numbers on your EVGA videocard to get a dishonest RMA, even though you did not register it. "hey its an EVGA card with a 10yr warrenty" so its not "really" cheating to change the serial numbers since I paid for it on e-bay. Right? -It should have been taken down the day it was posted.-

Belatu is trying to get an official response from the actual creators of the game, we should all just take a step back and wait for that since all this is doing is causing a fight. Neither side is going to give up on their point of view so arguing is just going to get this thread locked. I would love to hear from DICE in regards to this matter and i hope they take the time to get back to us on this.

Your willful ignorance to honestly understand what we have been explaining to you would frustrate anyone. I and others have tried to correct your use of programing terms. We have also tried to explain what the functions do and do not do. If you HONESTLY read and COMPREHENDED what we have been telling you you wouldn't be calling this fix a cheat.

Maybe next time try and keep your so called "explaining" on a professional level and avoid these personal attacks. It does no good to get so personal about this type of thing. I don't agree with the file edit/mod/hack/cheat or whatever anyone else may call it, but do you see me blowing up and taking it to a personal level? No i simply wont use it and continue on playing other games. You need to grow up and learn when to keep your rude comments to yourself. Not what I would have expected on this forum.

I don't know why he keeps calling it a cheat or unfair advantage when ANYONE can do it. Players have been tweaking cfg's since the first online First Person Shooter. If this was a cheat then places like pbbans would kick/ban players for using it.

Using Bowenac and maniacvv's logic, anything that helps a player gain a slight advantage or corrects an imbalance/imperfection is a cheat. Therefore, we all have to have the same mouse, keyboard, internet connection, hardware, speakers, headphones, and reflexes in order for games to stay cheat free. Having a high quality mouse is an obvious cheat because it has a lower input delay, as does a low response, high quality monitor and keyboard. Better speakers means you can hear people better than the average joe can with his headphones, so everyone has to buy the same $10 set from Walmart to make everything fair. You guys that have fast reflexes and aim don't need to be playing online games because you have an advantage over the other players. This thread needs to be locked soon, everyone report it.

All of those things you mentioned drdoomuzi4u will not results in the same "unfair advantage" as this file edit will, so I completely disagree with you.

So allowing you to aim and react better don't offer an unfair advantage? All this config edit does is allow the player to compensate for a variation in latency not accounted for by DICE when they developed the game. The very fact that they left the variable open to editing instead of hiding it in a dll or other file means that it was meant to be edited if needed. Any significant editing that would truly give a player an advantage would be done using a memory altering program, third party programs, or through server side editing.

I didnt read every post but i have seen the start and what was on the last page. from what i understand this is a fix to allow better accuracy by adjusting the detection delay to sync with your home ping. it is not a cheat a cheat lets you do things outside the normal game settings. this is a fix for mp one that should of been patched if it is causeing detection issues you would think that play testers would have noticed.

I've kept it at a professional level, but when someone continues to ignore what others have been explaining, what would you call it? Please show me where in other posts I have taken it to a personal level? Describing someones actions "willfully ignorant" when it is displayed as such isn't a personal attack, it's calling it is what it is.
