Quite interesting.
Is my waterblock not enough to keep my temps low at least at high 60's.
Is it time to buy a new one?
I've tried to go to 4.2 but my vcore, I think will be high I will try again when I am off or have more spare time. I should have just shot straight to 4.2 when I had my system back in 08 haha.
Anyways I love this platform, so many tweaks and new discoveries with volts and what not.
I've had my vcore at 1.35 with 201 blck it's boots and everything.. starts up fast it's crazy but not IBT stable, I try to run IBT max with 5 runs then run linx 20.. then up that to 50 then just let her do her thing but with that it failed. even if I raise VTT I got it almost to +200 starting from auto then on up to +200 will going passed +200 hurt me in the temp department or should I just wing it. If go to 4.2 I have a feeling that it'll be just for bench runs which I am fine with.
This venture has taught me a few things, what adjustments to use and what works/not work. It's like I have a new rig and trying to overclocking it again.
haha
Anyways..
I am done blabbling

Here is my 4.6ghz OC with HT Off. VTT is @ +50mv (1.25) Uncore is around 3500mhz  x16
For every increase of 200mhz on the uncore starting from x16, you need to add at least +50mv.

So for my chip, I use this template when overclocking... [3500mhz +50mv]   [3700mhz +100mv]   [3900mhz +150mv]  [4100mhz +200mv]

Now keep in mind that this CPU is an excellent overclocker.
My previous chip looked like this...
[3200mhz +50mv]    [3400mhz +100mv]   [3600mhz +150mv] [3800mhz 225mv]  [4000mhz +300mv]

Max OC on old chip was 196x21  2:10 with 1.4375 Vcore, HT ON,
Max OC (So far) on my new chip is 220x21  2:8   1.4375, HT OFF

Speedstepping is always enabled on my PC, So as soon as i stopped linx, the cpu multiplier dropped down, so that is why it doesnt actually show 4.6ghz, my mistake when taking the screeny.

I lowered Vcore to 1.425 and got through 8 tests before I stopped it because my gflops had dropped to 64-65 and not a constant 66 like in my screenshot.

Ho ho... I decided to rerun my setup at 4.5GHz with a small Vcore bump by upping just the multiplier. Looks like I am stable with 89ish Gflops. Kram get ready to update my results... Gotta love that little Asetek unit. Can't wait to see what the 920 will get me.

You know I am not using the stock fans right?
I have GT AP-29 in push with a feser shroud and then a TY 140 pulling...
I just followed the instructions for the mounting without reading them.

The AP-29 explains it... and you mean "you're NOT using stock fans" right? Oh yeah, I forgot about your ambient temps... mine is usually 28-30C

@PCTools
Before you post, go back to the first page and read the instructions 1 more time. You need to use 25000 problem size (not 10000), and a ALL-IN-ONE Screenshot like this. http://i.imgur.com/pDA4H.jpg

Wait until I get my Antec 920... You have an amazing chip though. Mine from the same batch doesn't clock that well with so little voltage. Congrats!

Thanks.  Going to do some case modding this summer so I can fit some bigger radiators and cool my GPUs.  Might try again then

Argh, with the Dominators + exact same BIOS settings I ran with the XMS3 I crashed after 14 passes of LinX, BSOD code 1E (increase vcore)... sigh, bumped my VCore up a notch and retesting... *prays*
