I got Lost Planet 2 during this Christmas steam sale. I installed it and updated with GFWL. I then started a game, but five minutes into the level it crashed. I tried again, and crashed again. So I then verified the integrity of game cache. 6 files failed and were re downloaded. I tried again, but crashed to a blue screen. I verified again, and 6 files failed again.

So I re downloaded them and updated my drivers from 260.89 to the newest 260.99. Started the game up and was able to play for a bit, and I thought that it was working. But near the end of level 1-1, it crashed again.

I thought that maybe my download was corrupt, so I deleted my local files and downloaded all 12+ gigs. This time it would crash just after I picked DX9, I wouldn't see any intro screens, just a black screen. So I restarted my computer and tried again. This time I wasn't able to watch a whole cut scene before I was blue screened. I verified the integrity of the files, and wouldn't you guess it, 6 files failed again.

So I am getting very frustrated that I can't play this game because I was looking forward to it; what little I did play was fun. Anyone else have these problems or have any advice?

If you need to know my specs, just look in my mods rigs cuz I'm not typing all of that out.

I have the game too, Steam-based and haven't had any issues; no crashes or errors.  I doubt this would help but try removing your overclock on your CPU to check.

I guess I will try that later tonight (going to be eating soon).  But I have put both of my 280's to stock speed when I updated drivers and that didn't work.

I just find it really odd that every time 6 files fail, and I always download the same amount.  I've actually crashed and verified more times than I wrote up there(didn't feel like typing it out), they have failed like 10 times.  And it always the same 6 files.

When you play the game and it uses GfWL, it will initiate the update download automatically if there is an update for the game you're playing.  I'm using 260.99.

Well I put my i7 back to stock speeds and it worked.  I was able to play up to level 3-2 with no problems, and still not fall below 100 fps.

Don't know why that worked when every other game that I have doesn't mind my 920 being oc'ed.

I had a lot of fun with it, and I'm so glad I finally got to play it.  Thank you!

I've had some issues getting it working also, to update GFWL if your having problems...

Update it with a different game, I used Dawn of War. For some reason I couldn't do it with LP2... After some time I got it up and running also, hopefully I can get into over the weekend.

It was going good until today.  I got to the end of 6-3 where you are doing the interactive cut scene, and it crashed to a blue screen.  I didn't even bother validating the files that time, I just started all the way at the beginning of 6-3 again.  I got to the interactive cut scene again, and it blue screened in the exact same spot.

Well I just verified the integrity, and 6 files failed yet again

      [edit]
I just installed the newest 266.35 beta drivers in hopes that this might fix my problem.  I was finally able to pass 6-3 and got through the next level.  I just killed the final boss and the final cut scene was loading when I got another blue screen.  This is with the newest drivers and everything at stock speeds.
