Really?
I can do it.
Enable K-Boost, Speedstep and Turbo..
Disable C1E / C-States..(all powersavings) and my vcc is always at bios settings, no boosting anymore.

But I don't like it..
1,34V and 1200 MHz in idle mode is useless.

I think this will help some of you. Here are my BIOS settings for my system (see mods rigs link on left). I'm not sure what the problem is not being able to change voltage but maybe you can spot it.

Also, check if you have E-Leet installed and running if you did not accidentally set the voltage in that, because that will overwrite the BIOS as you go into Windows, resulting in higher or lower voltages.

That is a very low vcore and VTT for a 4.0 GHz overclock. Are you fully stable with those settings on A70?

Can you bump the vcore some more on the A71 and see if it solves the issue?

Wow very nice CPU you have there. I would keep the A70 BIOS since the A71 doesn't provide much beneficial to you cause you are not using a K series.

The issue is that to use the higher multipliers with a K processor you need to have Speedstep and Turbo enabled on the EVGA P55 MB with or without K boost on. Even if I don’t run Eleet and I run CPUZ and I can see that the voltages are not what I set them at in the BIOS.

Re:EVGA P55 Motherboards - BIOS 71 Released 2010/09/16 15:40:21 (permalink)

From Jacob_F: "Anyways, the K SKU customizing allows you to combine the unlocked multi on the K SKU, with turbo, so instead of just increasing the multi 4x, you can customize it to go higher when needed."

---

does that mean, that I can use the Intel Turbo Tech on 875k with an Multi of f.e. 27 and it boost two cores up to 33, when needed?

If it is so, than I don't understand what EVGA is doing there... every overclocker I know, wants to push all cores to a high clock. Nobody likes the turbo mode from intel for overclocking, because "it's out of controll of any voltage". Ok, nice that the feature works.. but, I asked the "K" users.. do you waiting for something like that?

I want C1E Support .. can't understand why my CPU works at 1,34V with multi 9x by speedstep in idle..  (normally it needs at that point 0,76V) - and I overclock the "K"-cpu like Intel likes it.. only over the multi.

133x30 = 4 GHz with 1,325V stable with Linx / Prime
133x9 = 1,2 GHz with 1,34V stable...

Is it impossible to use the powersaving features on overclocked "K"-Cpus?

Kind regards
thx
Dozer

not impossible, the powersaving features work just fine on my intel board with my 875k, evga bios just doesn't seem to support it properly

Ok, thx, I saw your video with the intel bios. Thanks for that.

so I asked again, "new version"...

Is it impossible to use the powersaving features on overclocked "K"-Cpus on EVGA P55 FTW Boards?

(i know, there is a way, when using the BLCK way and using multi 22)
But that's not what I want.. with a K-CPU.

Dozer what happens when you enable Speedstep? Not C state..

P.S.
Still can not control voltage  with K boost :(

Turn off K Boost if you don't need it; it's just auto overclocking.. doesn't do so well. Have you tried manually overclocking?

I normally do not run K Boost I turned it on just see if that would work (but I’m sure I tryed that months ago). I have had this issue since BIOS 70 with my K processor. When I set the voltage in Eleet it does not save!! I will set the BCLK to 140 multiplier to 32 with a Vcore 1.5v Vtt 1.35 with Speedstep and turbo on, all other power saving features disabled in the BIOS, boot up and my Vcore voltage reads 1.66v In Eleet and CPUZ. I Set it back to 1.5v apply selection in Eleet temps drop by 8c, reboot and voltage it set back to 1.66 with the high temps. The high temps are the main issue here….I get a stabile OC of   4544 with 142 BLCK and a 32 multiplier with 1.56875 Vcore and 1.35 Vtt. With temps I can live with. But I do not want to set the voltage in Eleet EVERY TIME!!!

Re:EVGA P55 Motherboards - BIOS 71 Released 2010/09/18 15:43:33 (permalink)
Hmm.. Can you uninstall E-leet and see if the voltage settings in BIOS will hold? Also, turn off vdroop if it's on.

The vcore is very high for the CPU; be wary of shorting the lifespan of the processor.

If not, please contact EVGA support so they can look into this issue for you, or get you a replacement if the board is defective.

Uninstalling Eleet did not work. You think I may have a bad motherboard?

Eleet does not write to the BIOS. You can save a profile and load profiles if you want but it is more intended to either find your max stable overclock or overclock on the edge of stability. Once you find the max stable overclock, apply those settings in the BIOS. Are you overclocking with or without vdroop? Software readings are also not entirely accurate. If you are currently overclocking without vdroop, what happens when you have it set to with vdroop?

140 BLCK 32 Multiplier

Just tried it withVdroop ON!
Set Vcore  to 1.4v VTT to 1.35 in BIOS.

Booted up fine, in Eleet voltage is Vcore 1.55v Vtt 1.4
And in CPUz Vcore 1.552

Is there still this on-off-on bug when you have the lockgen switch mode at enabled?

Cause that's kind of annoying! It sn't good for my HDDs and my laing waterpump...

@thegcpu I would think your boards vreg is bad.
does your board have voltage read points?
If you use an older bios do the settings show up in windows the way they are set in bios?

Hi again,

so  - just a quick run on 24/7 settings.. 133x30 = 4.000 MHz
I got better "load-voltages"..
it drops from 1.325V to 1.282V
And .. I can leave C-States on, ... but that makes no difference..

This weekend I'll go up to maximum.. 4,5 GHz should be possible..
maybe 5 GHz on one core with your nice multi-turbo features..

so far.. so nice, but please evga - look at the powersaving features..
my 875k uses 1,33V in idle.. with speedstep @ 133x9 = 1.200 MHz..

Here the idle results:
