What card or configuration does ot take to run 3 monitors ?  I currently have a GTX 550Ti and a GTX 560Ti installed in my computer.  Have a 800 Watt PS as well.  I bought 3 Asus VS Series VS247H-P 23.6 inch LCD monitors with the hope that by having all 3 monitors the same it would drive all 3.  I want to have the screen wrap around all 3 rather than have 3 monitors showing the same background picture.  I have the center monitor connected to the 560Ti card with a D-Sub cable, and the two other monitors connected to the 550Ti card, also with D-Subs.  I attempted to hook all 3 monitors to the GTX 560Ti card when I first installed the monitors. Center screen to the HDMI port, and the outside two to the D-Sub ports.  The EVGA software told me that the card will only support 2 monitors.  Shosbot !   What do i need to do to get these monitors working the way i want ?  Any suggestion is welcome.  Thanks

The 500 series only supports 2 monitors per card unless you have a 590  or 560 Ti 2Win. For 3 monitors with those cards you would need 2 on one card and 1 on the other. Open the nvidia control panel and go to set up multiple displays to make sure that all the monitors are seen and checked.

To have each monitor be its own display hold WINDOWS KEY and press the P key until you get to EXTENDED Desktop mode. This will make each display its own instead of cloning them. To rearrange the screens you can either do it in nvidia control panel or by right clicking the desktop and going to screen resolution. Hit Identify to see what each screens number is then drag them to fit the correct order.

Moving over to the 500 Series section.

Matt's correct about getting the cards into an extended display, but I think you're asking about using Nvidia Surround, rather than just extending the desktop.  With the cards you have, the only way to do Surround is in SLI.  Your current configuration would not allow that.  You'd need either another GTX 550 Ti or a GTX 560 Ti and a motherboard that supports SLI, or look into getting a 600 or 700 series card that supports 3 or more monitors.  Without SLI with your cards, you'll only be able to run the monitors in extended mode, which, while it would allow for 3 separate displays, the monitors would share the same wallpaper/background, rather than be in Surround mode, which acts like one gigantic display with a single background.

NordicJedi is right.

If your motherboard supports SLI, you could buy a second 560ti (used) for the cheapest option, and remove the 550ti.

But you'd have to dial down the settings a bit to push 5760x1080 resolution with newer games, due to limited card power/vram.

If your motherboard doesn't support SLI, I would recommend buying a newer card (like the 680 or a 7-series) rather than replacing your motherboard.

For what you are doing I would recommend either getting a 670, 680, 760, or a 770.
