    First off:

Uninstall AIDA64 from programs and features (this is a possible cause of your crash)
*this program should NOT be running at startup when Precision is used

Open Utorrent and in the options uncheck "start at boot"

    REBOOT

    Re: Battlefield 4 crash 2014/04/20 23:12:03 (permalink)
Your forgetting that many of the programs you have installed are NOT signed...
They cannot load until after booting...
And alot of them are probably not liking the recent Win 8.1 patch.

You have the logicrap keyboard LCD software, and have 4 -different- programs showing that hook into it
*this is most likely where the error is occuring
    ------------------------------

    After uninstalling AIDA64 and rebooting.....

Then SHUT DOWN and uninstall Precision
*make SURE that when it asks to save data.. you ANSWER NO (you MUST DO THIS)
after its uninstalled, reboot (do NOT skip this)

    Now after-rebooting
    re-install Precision 4.2.1
during the install make sure YOU UNCHECK the Riva Tuner addon (RTSS)
Leave Precision -completely- at 100% defaults except for "start with windows" and a "user" fan profile if you want
    ------------------------------------

Now test and your crash should be gone completely
*if its NOT, then its likely that Deskscape crap your running

What Nvidia driver version are you running? and describe -exactly- how you installed it please

    ALSO:
Remove the MS STORE tile from active
    Uninstall Start8

How long have you had this setup? when did you put in Win8?
Have you tried backing down the CPU overclocked to 3.8-4.0?

    What driver are you on?
    Is the NVCP at defaults?

I'm running the latest driver but have reinstalled 335.23. 335.23 driver was running stable before the windows update recently, so i went back to it and crashed on that driver as well. With the updated windows.
I uninstalled all nvidia drivers then went into msconfig safe mode, then ran diplay driver uninstaller then changed msconfig back to normal bootup then installed just the graphic driver and physx. nvidia control panel running at default except the display to single.
I was just uninstalling normally with clean install marked but that kept crashing aswell.

You never -ever- uninstall the Nvidia "Graphics driver" component when using Windows 8

Lets see what your in-game video settings and Origin settings panel show

The only other thing you might want to try is DISABLE that PlexMedia server thing your running and test

As always, you MUST change Windows update settings to "Check for updates, but let you choose to download and install"

    As always
You MUST shutdown, uninstall Precision AND answer --NO-- to saving data BEFORE attempting to work with Nvidia driver sets.

    See you tomorrow bro

When i reinstalled windows on Friday i didnt install plex and it still crashed. Most of these programs were added later after i tried bf4 and it was still crashing. Even system was set to default and all graphics drivers default and still crashed.
    I'll change those settings.
    Thanks maniac!!

You can also try unchecking the logicrap keyboard software from the startup list and just use the Windows default driver for testing.

Also like I suggested, try backing down the CPU overclock to 3.8 or so and test with that

I'll be honest, BF4 has always randomly crashed for me. Doesn't matter what GPU, CPU, settings, OS configuration... The game is broke. The crashes have become a lot less frequent over time, but it still randomly crashes.

The worse part of it all is nvwgf2umx.dll.
I know thats the error now what is causing it.
If my system crashes i hate not knowing what is causing it.
Well the game crashing, system is fine.
I've uninstalled everything but what i need to run the game, plus i'm running my system @ default. Still crashes game with this stupid error nvwgf2umx.dll
And there is alot people with this same crashing "bf4 has stopped working" with this error in the bf4 forums.
