that info cant be correct as its nothing more than the 690 specs aside from the 6gb of vram. just wait until we have an actual release where know the specs and price and then go from there.

from what i understand, the titan would be the better choice, 800~900 dollars (cheaper than 1000 of a 690), single GPU solution, MUCH more vram, and higher bandwidth. the fact that it's a single GPU solution makes it that much easier to choose. and the price, realistically without all the BS, it should be 800~900 when the card is actually available.

Wait for reviews, don't buy first day on the hope it will be worth it. Someone at OBR Hardware claims to have tested out Titan (take with salt, no way to really prove it yet, it is just fun fodder at this point). As you can see, the implication is that it runs the benchmark slower than GTX690 on average, except likely (as someone mentioned to me) has higher minimum frame rates in games since the 690 has a pair of slower GPUs. Plus you could always overclock it a tiny bit and match GTX690 on average, that might be important to whoever gets it. But considering that you can get up to four Titans together in SLI and potentially achieve performance beyond a pair of GTX690-- as if dual GTX690's was a bottleneck for anything-- that is probably why it might cost more than GTX690.

GPGPU wise which is more my area I am gonna go for two TITANS hehe, anyways that would be my choice, due to their much greater GPGPU support & performance over GK104-400-A2, since the GK110-400-A2 is more made for GPGPU over GK104-400-A2

Don't expect 4K to be mainstream anytime soon. Maybe in 3 years we might see one under 3000 dollars... By then a few generations of video cards will have been released... The most cost effective setups are SLI GTX 670s or CFX HD7970s.

What res are you running good sir? 1080p me? no wai man lol wrong address, only Monitors here not TV's My screens are 1920 x 1200 x32 & 1440 x 900 x32 As games & simulations go, yer I play them, but that isn't my main thing :P I do renders and compile my own made HD Video remixes for friends and for myself. CUDA 5.02 is very handy also, it would save me lots of money by buying a massive server park, so two GK110-400-A2's would really be a good solution for my needs the GPGPU's I use now are a pair of GK104-400-A2's 2x 1536 Kepler CUDA Cores, ideal for now. I use two HP-ZR24w's they do 1920 x 1200 x32 & 60Herz, they are S-IPS Panels not of that low quality TN & LED stuff to which the TV & low end monitor market has been over flooded by. My other monitor for the retro gaming system is a Samsung SyncMaster 943 19" TN panel, this is a TN for now, it will be replaced with a 20.1" EIZO S-PVA Panel in the future which does 1600 x 1200. All my Monitors are real monitors with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Only that new EIZO will have 4:3 which is handier for them retro system that rely on 4:3 resolutions. Mainly I have the hardware to run 1200p and greater, so I will not need nor want lower reso's than 1920 x 1200. As Titan goes it's very much welcome here for my CUDA Workstations any day! It's also the closest and best thing to that of a Quadro K20X and cheaper too, so for that matter why not right!

I'd have to agree with some of the other posters, just wait until the TITAN is released, or even a bit after that, depending on when the next series is scheduled for release.

Also note that the test Egg did on this card was compared to a GTX 680 or rather a single GPU Card What about a Duel GPU -v- Duel GPU. That would be a real test of power. GTX 690 and TITAN II I think the test was unfair to us GTX 690 owner. I was Thinking about until I watched the video. Bill

Titan is a single gpu , so in games that dont suport sli the titan will blow away the 690. I would wait for the titan, it preforms almost as good as the 690 with one gpu. and you could always get another titan later and sli it. So im waiting for the titan.

Im in the same boat, i want to upgrade from my 580 classified ultra. Im waiting for the titan. when you think ablut it the titan preforms almost as good as a 690 with one gpu. there are some games that dont suport sli those will preform better on the titan. you can always get another titan later. 2 titans will compleatly blow away the 690. Ive read threads of people only geting 60 fps on bf3 with the 690 , because of sli issues. the games have to suport sli fot get a benifit from the 690. thats not the case with the titan, because it has one gpu.

trek554 it is funny that some people say they would want Titan over the gtx690 to avoid sli issues then immediately talk about running 2 Titans in sli. lol Well to point out the obvious, 2-Way SLI has proved that it always works better than Dual Chip SLI or Quad SLI. Two separate cards is always more stable than one dual chip solution or a two Dual chip solutions to create a Quad chip setup. Due to the complexity of the Dual Chip solution, this will need more programming skills to make a stable driver to work well with it, even that the drivers are unified. I talk out of pure experience after having over 600 high end VGA cards since 1994, I also beta tested the 3dfx Voodoo5 6000 AGP 128MB Engineering Sample and the never released Voodoo5 5000 AGP & PCI engineering Samples, drivers were hard to get stable for such Dual & Quad Chip solutions. The same I experienced that my 9800 GX2 & GTX 295's needed a much more stable driver than a 2-way SLI GTX 480, 580 or 680 setup. VGA cards collecting & beta testing has always been one of my key features. Mainly I'd buy them pure to interest and not to need, VGA cards has always been a major hobby of mine:

LOL thats true, I spend too money on computers, i usually got enough spare parts laying around to build a computer. about the itme I get it finished something new and better comes out. about a month after I gouht the gtx 580 classified ultra. the gtx 680 came out. so ummm when are the watterbloaks coming out for the titan ? lol pme more thing, why do the grafix cards always come with the prety side down, where no one can see it. and if I put my corsair 800d on my desk where i can see all the lights, I got no room on my desk for my gaming keyboard, 27" moniter and thunderfx box gaming mouse, oh and dont forget my girlfriends android phone that i use to moniter my core temps. I know I shouold buy my own phone, but I spend all my money on computer parts. so about this TITAN, when does the watercooled hidrocopper 5 top secret classified extreem ultra version come out ??? , those do cost like $100 extra dollers per extra word, I wonder why ?

690 is better than titan , 2gpus is always faster than 1gpu . Based on the same 28nm kepler , 3072 > 2688 (?) . though the 690 is powerful it still can't hold the 1080p + 8msaa , neither does titan now I have 2*680 , one is classified , the other is galaxy , both are vapor chamber , the latter is vapor-x with 3 fans . I'm very satisfied with these 2 cards (Max Payne 3 - 1080p - 4msaa - other ultra - 60fps - no lag no stuttering) , and I will definitely buy the second classified to make a 3way pc some time , so I can overcome the 1080p with 8msaa , even 1440p + 4msaa(?) . in 28nm era , there is not a miracle , which will let you become a master to rule the other old 28nm customer like me . (player from China , my English is poor , I can't express the proper meaning) so I recommend the cheaper 680 sli , not the rumor titan . You probably need 2 titan for the real harsh conditions .

Well I'd prefer the GTX 690 performance from one Chip and the Titan shall always be superior, in GPGPU CUDA apps it will annihilate a GTX 690 any day, it also has 6GB of 384 bit GDDR5 as where a GTX 690 is limited to it's 2GB 256Bit GDDR5 per GPU, if you want to run 3x 30" Dells, HP's or EIZO S-PVA or S-IPS Panels the GeForce Titan is definitely the way to go also. And CUDA is more you thing, where as a K20 can is too much for you, the GeForce Titan is again the way to go. So all due top this I'd go for the Titan any day, it also has a much lower TDP than the GTX 690, which is 235 Watts over the 400 Watts of the GTX 690. So even if using two Titans, you'd probably consume about the same power level as one GTX 690 and a GTX 660 Ti in combination... not even that power consumption is that important for such high end cards, but if you can save money on this also, I don't see it to be left out :P Quad SLI is fun and extremely interesting to play and work with, don't get me wrong there, but it was never great as game scaling went, so buying a second Titan will make thing s even better, 2_way SLI also has mush lesser driver issues than Dual Chip & Quad Chip SLI for that matter, all in all the Titan will have always be the upper hand over any GTX 690 setup, the Micro stuttering issue will also have a much lesser chance of being in the way. As the word need goes that is irrelevant to me It's all about pure interest to me and nothing else, the only part where the word need would refer to is it's extremely high performance with CUDA 5 and such apps, that is where GK110-400-A2 will truly shine at doing. GPGPU workloads all the way. So if this is all true the Titan would be a clear winner it's cheaper that a GTX 690, in most cases it would be faster than a GTX 690 and it's TDP is also lost less, I don't see it being as problem really But I'm like wait it off, it won't take long now before these things launch, drivers will also make them even better over the upcoming months, look how well GTX 680 has improved it's self, I'm pretty sure Titan will have a similar improvement. Anyways I am happy with my two EVGA GTX 680 SC SE 2GB's I have now, my reso is 1920 x 1200 x32 No Titans for me just yet, as I have something else I am working on atm, but I won't leave Titan out of my new project yet

Don't really know of if you have had any experience with 690 quad sli, but I have not had any of the issues that you are claiming in your post. As to the Titan, we have all read the same rumors, that you have, so instead of claiming these as facts, I would advise that we all wait to see what a Titan can do, before making grandeur statements, and spreading speculation to the community members here. If anyone is interested in the rumor mill, head on over to OCN for your fill.

Erm just pointing out facts that most single GPU setups are more stable over them Dual GPU designs I have had Quad SLI myself from 3dfx with their never released Vodooo5 6000 and my ultra rare Quad SLI setup with a pair of EVGA GTX 295 Red Editions: http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1857560 I know who created Quad SLI, I also know how it works, it's great for 3D Mark but 9 of the 10 cases a 3-Way single GPU setup will beat it and is cheaper. As for Titan, well two of these will annihilate two GTX 690's any day they also have no small memory pool per GPGPU. The GK110-400_A2 is also used in the Tesla K20X cards, this is the same GPGPU we are looking at, it's also the most powerful graphics chip in the word, I know what i am talking about after having over 600 high end VGA cards since 1994 thank you, mostly more experience than the average user on any VGA card forum for that matter I am sorry if I have upset you, it's just the way I see it and I am quite sure that GK110-400-A2 will do exceedingly good. I have nothing against Dual chip cards nor Quad SLI, they give very interesting and complex designs, like most people know a complex designs needs a very stable driver for it to function stable over a single chip design, left alone a Quad chip design like the Vodooo5 6000, that was an even greater problem than the regular Dual chip Vodooo5 5000 & 5500 boards I worked with. Quad SLI will always be something I really love playing around with, but for practical use I'd always prefer a 2-Way SLI setup, it's more practical and it works far better driver wise.

Please re-read my post, and no you did not upset me. I don't know who created quad sli, nor is it relevant to me. However, I can share my own experience, and based on that, I don't have the issues that you are describing. So, may be you can add this to your knowledge pool of what you are talking about. As to the rest, since I have only read and seen speculation from various rumored sources, I can't comment, except to say it is speculation. So, unless you have personally reviewed one of these cards?, ......

Erm I did read your post, otherwise I would not be able to reply to it eh? And I wasn't claiming anything, I just speculate as a Die-Hard VGA card collector I always speculate and most of the time my speculations always came out, sorry it's just what I love doing with new upcoming techs. And yes I have had fewer phone calls with NVIDIA employee's that worked with the GK110-400-A2 Tesla units and they were able to tell me nice things on how the GK110-400-A2 could be compared with the GK104-400-A2 and that with GPGPU workloads a single GK110-400-A2 can beat two GK104-400_A2's with heavy structured apps that are based on CUDA 5.02. In games a s-Way SLI or Dual Chip GK104-400-A2 setup can be slightly faster about 5 to 10% but in most cases the GK110-400-A2 is more powerful, because it all comes from one Super Scalar Design. I have many contacts within the GPGPU world and getting new inside info was never hard for me to do. Somethings I do have to keep secret, since I don't want to reveal things that are not aloud to be revealed before a certain launch date. I just know to a certain point that GeForce Titan will show some shockingly good results, which will be a lot like what 8800 GTX gave us back in 2006 which used the G80-300-A2 GPGPU.

Well, this is interesting. Are you able to confirm the Feb 18th paper launch at an $899 price point? If your speculation is close to reality that two Titans will annihilate a quad 690 configuration, I would certainly be interested in picking up a couple for the next build. Any idea if the rumors about limited availability at launch are accurate?

xtt1341 690 is better than titan , 2gpus is always faster than 1gpu . You probably need 2 titan for the real harsh conditions . sorry but your comment is pure nonsense. 2 cards are not always better than 1 big card. not every game will scale great with sli so the single card will be as fast or faster. plus no sli issues such as microsuttering to deal with. and 3 way sli is laughable joke in some cases so have fun wasting your money on that. and 680 sli is NOT cheaper because you would need 4gb 680 cards. Titan will have 6gb of vram and you will need 680 4gb sli to keep up in some situtaions since 2gb on 680 sli would not enough. so again everything you posted was nonsense and Titan will be a much better option than fooling with sli just to barely win overall.
